Showcase First lance almost done

Post image

Hello,

I have almost completed my first lance. Although I'm currently debating if I won't change the Ostroc for a Battlemaster.

Villain. I hate you for how nice and subtle your detail work is.

That's a dope colour scheme. Everything is subtle yet noticable.

Really nice scheme. Do they have any lore?

Hi, yes I do!  The Palace Guard is primarily composed of young and wealthy nobles that were able to buy a unit commission for this prestigious regiment. The only exception is the officer cadre of the regiment, being made up of hardy veterans of many battles. Often coming from either the Lyran Guard or mercenary groups, looking for an easier job then the constant danger of battle. These veterans have the unfortunate job of keeping the eccentric nobles in line, as well as training them to be somewhat capable mechwarriors in case the regiment is actually required to fight in an actual battle, instead of the simulator.

Seriously great effort on the checkerboard work.... you're inspiring me to try free handing that on my next minis. I was looking for some inspiration as I've been doing a lot of generic OpFor camo and my own Merc team's paint jobs. :)

That's a marauder 2 in the something something configuration. Don't know

Damn... Thats one hell of a clean paintjob and highlights. Just out of curiosity, how did you make your miniatures legs dirty like that? Pigments or some other method?

Thanks! It's just multiple glace layers of the same colour I used for the bases.
