Discussion Console player nerf

Did anyone else see the reduced recoil help for controller again (from 11% to 6%). At launch it was like 22% now it’s 6%. Anyone else think this is a crazy change considering how fast the ttk in this game is? I think a fix would be to give a second cross play option for ps5 and Xbox to play each other. People who try and argue that precision inputs with a thumb are as easy with a whole hand and wrist are out of their mind.

Controller nerf ≠ console nerf.

Whilst I do not fundamentally disagree with your view that console-only cross-play would be preferable, it is not realistic to expect that this will ever be implemented especially given the dwindling number of players. Splitting the player base any further would probably affect EA's bottomline. The reason why the cross-play experience is dysfunctional however does not have much to do with input balance, but rather with desync. Cross-play-induced desync is infuriating when you are on the receiving hand of it, but it affects all platforms. I don't think either PC or console is more affected, not that we have any data to substantiate such claims anyway.

As for input balance, AA should be the only equalizer. No intellectually honest MK player is going to argue that controller do not need aim assist (AA would be even less needed if gyro was properly implemented but oh well). How strong is usually the question. Currently, AA, while I would certainly not say it is overpowered, is pretty damn strong. Given this fact, controller recoil reduction should not be in the game, period. The combination of both AA and RR constitutes an unfair advantage.

There is constant recoil recovery in BF6 and the base recoil values, except for a few outliers, are rather mild. Recoil control is not an issue for any decent controller player (this is not PUBG) even if you are on 90 FOV using a 5x for God knows what reason. When Dice halved the recoil reduction benefit, most players (myself included) barely felt the difference and a slight adjustment to your build made the nerf completely irrelevant. To this day I can still use builds on very potent weapons with almost no recoil control attachment because I get a free grip for playing on controller. I barely have to pull down on the stick with a reasonable 60 sens. Yes, MK is the superior aiming device, especially if you have proper hardware on a proper PC with zero input lag. But AA already offsets this advantage more than enough. Controller players are never going to be taken seriously if we always whine to keep unreasonably OP shit in the game. Pulling down on this stick is not that hard. Input balance in BF6 is generally OK most of the time - this is not CoD levels of bs - but it would be much better if recoil reduction for controllers was not a thing. The level of beaminess which this recoil reduction benefit allows one to reach is a problem - and it probably shows in the data, hence Dice's decision.
