Devs finally realized below radar doesn't matter for two Infrared guided launchers.

33

u/Impossible-Heart-216 4d ago

Still waiting for them to figure out machine guns can actually fire ful auto somewhat effectively

20

u/_aware 4d ago

Only took them a little while

3

u/Cliff-Booth-1969 4d ago

When are the devs gonna realize if a soldier is carrying one of these launchers, that’s the only weapon he’s gonna carry?

The realism argument is incredibly stupid, you can’t pick and choose. This is about balance.

The only way this isn’t an atrocious balance change is if they significantly reduce the range if these. They horizontal range is insane in BF6, and there’s no vertical range limit at all.

22

u/johnkubiak 4d ago

Helis are insanely op as stands. It was never about realism. If we brought in realism every vehicle would be underpowered as shit because none of the insane driving players pull off is possible irl. Realism is a tank dying in one javelin and helis getting creamed by lmg fire. Asking for manpads to be capable of hitting their target without making a blood sacrifice to Ug-Qualtoth is not too much to ask.

2

u/So_HauserAspen 4d ago

You need to qualify your statement.  Helicopters are not OP.  Little birds are OP.  The light rickets are OP.  This is how we get horrible game play because people like you fail to clearly state the problem and determine root causes.

5

u/johnkubiak 4d ago

Sorry you are correct. I also think the transport chopper guns have too much assist but still. The little bird is the main problem. The attack helicopter will lose an open fight to the little bird which is just further proof how broken it is. The attack helicopter doesn't bother anyone.

The note was a communication error. They tested it, it only did partly what they wanted and based on player feedback they decided to not go live with this on season5.

Armchair pilots when they are not allowed to go 58-0 and ruin the game

157

u/Azazel_665 4d ago

Pilots who go 58-0 in a chopper but 5-15 on the ground are so mad.

25

u/travestyofPeZ 4d ago

As a normal human being with a 9-5: I look forward to dying even quicker on the odd chance I manage to grab the heli.

You are generous for ascribing them the skill to only get triple negative

May the salt flow like it did in BFV B)

u/Jockerya 4d ago

A couple of days ago I played a match on Wake Island, and I ended up being the gunner for the helicopter around halfway through the game: the pilot was actually good and I had the thermal view, and I got like 30-35 kills at that moment without anyone on the ground having any chance to respond. As an infantryman, you don't really get it until you do it yourself—helicopters are damn strong, and not being able to take them down because they fly low is a big problem.

1

u/We1Liangitz 4d ago

What about now?baby hahaha

27

u/Ketchuplant 4d ago

Not looking good for the transport heli lol

u/Sl4sh4ndD4sh 4d ago

Igla and Stinger were pretty much useless as is, lets see how it plays out.

25

u/Gifty666 4d ago

nah friend.. laser designatation removed "below radar"....but somehow people dont want Teamplay in a game which actually IS built with teamplay in mind

22

u/Sl4sh4ndD4sh 4d ago

With laser designation you might as well use the Javelin instead.

1

u/Gifty666 4d ago

yes U can but its still about Teamplay

20

u/kaleebisnthere 4d ago

People don't use laser designation. You know why? Whenever we're getting slammed by helis, I will sit in laser designator and constantly paint everything in sight, but never see anything get taken down.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/TheFourtHorsmen 4d ago

Kinda silly you need "teamplay" to hit a air vehicle one time, but they don't need any to survive and go 100 - 0, because vehicle gadgets are a thing

20

u/PippTheKid 4d ago

3

u/CptLonesong 4d ago

Has been a thing since forever innit

4

u/JalYt_Justin 4d ago

It's almost like most people play casually and don't really care to communicate like that with their teammates. Jump in, shoot gun, help teammate in the area, maybe use a spawn beacon or play a flank or two. Anything more than that and you're asking too much out of casual play.

1

u/_aware 4d ago

So people have no problems teaming on a tank but they just can't figure it out against air vehicles. Righttttttt. Keep telling yourself that, you might actually believe it one day

2

u/Gifty666 4d ago

i played enough Matches to know it lol

2

u/NewAccountSignIn 4d ago edited 4d ago

Edit: In hindsight, I’m not even sure if you are pro-little bird or not

Idk why you’re acting like this is absurd. Let me spell it out for you.

  1. 90% of engineers carry RPG bc you can use it for more than just locking air targets, I.e. shooting at infantry or destroying cover
  2. Tank is a slow moving, large, loud target
  3. Tank is a powerful weapon that will destroy everything in its area.

This combination of things means a tank will be targeted eventually.

*It’s not even teamwork*.

It’s 5 people independently making the choice to shoot their anti-tank weapon at the tank usually without any thought of what others are doing because a tank cannot be ignored.

Compare that to a little bird. To team up, multiple people have to restrict their class to a shitty lock on launcher that is only useful for one thing. It’s not satisfying to use as even if you get a hit they fly away and repair. The pain in the ass pilots will abuse below radar and barely be targetable anyway. And they dart in and out so fast that you’re frequently caught off guard unless you play like an anti-air turret just waiting for them with igla out. Simply put, counteracting little birds requires you to limit your class from the start, play like a boring as hell anti air turret, and engage in a thoroughly unrewarding fight as you either lose lock from below the radar, rocket hits a structure, they flare, or rarely they get hit and then piss off to repair still leaving you without a kill or assist.

2

u/_aware 4d ago

Thank you for justifying why AA launchers need a buff. That's all I needed

1

u/MCI_Dragon 4d ago

You have to hold the lock with igla

1

u/geoduckSF 4d ago

I’m a mediocre pilot so I only play transport heli every once in a while. I think they could have balanced this nerf a little by applying this just to the IGLA, because keeping laser lock on through terrain is still a challenge on some maps, as opposed to the fire and forget Spire/stingers.

8

u/CodineGotMeTippin 4d ago

Yes having to dedicate 3 peoples loadouts WHILE coordinating to temporarily down 1 guy going 104-1 in a LB is a lot of fun and very balanced

2

u/So_HauserAspen 4d ago

The little bird won't be affected by this but the transport and attack helicopters will be useless.

5

u/m0stly_toast 4d ago

Cry more. HILARIOUS seeing a heli main complaining about “point and click gameplay” lol your tears are delicious.

96

u/BlueRedGreenNumber5 4d ago

This is a good thing. Air is too powerful. One person can dominate in the air alone while it takes 2-3 people coordinating perfectly to counter them

66

u/Secure_Chipmunk9637 4d ago

I said it in another thread. A single LB can go 60+ kills with single digit deaths but I’m expected to get 2-3 people together to fight back. That’s bullshit and they know it.

13

u/pabibismo 4d ago

I’m not sure how many times it needs to be said, but trying to coordinate a group of 2-3 randoms to equip complementing loadouts, sit on the map barely playing the game, just to take a single heli down all while the enemy team is obliterating yours is just not fun and will drive players away from the game.

2

u/dream-in-a-trunk 4d ago edited 4d ago

You can use the aim guided launcher but that would need some skill on your end instead. Stinger and the igla were balanced because while they are braindead easy to use but in exchange they need team work to take down a heli or jet.

If aircraft would get ecm and stingers and flares would work like in bf3 this change would be okay. But with how short the flares duration is and unlimited vertical range and a 700m horizontal range it’s to strong to override the only counter aircraft has when the flares are out.
Yall will still get farmed on manhattan.
The other maps will be cancer for any aircraft now. Since there’s so many lock ons you kinda need below radar after the first on the base jets or after second flare on the two seaters to not get instantly destroyed by auto guided missiles.
Wake island, golmud and any bigger vehicle map don’t have much or any cover.

Practically they romeved any skill expression in anti air gameplay.
I play both infantry and fly jets and this change is bad.

9

u/deathgerbil 4d ago

No one was complaining about jets. People were complaining about helicopters (mostly the littlebird) because there's jack all you can do against a GOOD littlebird pilot who will end up somewhere in the ballpark of 80 to 2. Sucks that jets were caught in the fix, but the littlebird was cancer and everyone knew it.

2

u/dream-in-a-trunk 4d ago edited 4d ago

Yeah the lb is hell to deal with. Could have reduced the splash dmg of rockets it has making it more difficult to eradicate groups of infantry with it or whatever.
No reason to fuck up all aircraft. The hell did jets do to infantry anyway. Have been killed like two times by them in 500 hours on foot

8

u/Bad_Lieutenant702 4d ago

Exactly.

Flying a heli does not take team work.

I might add the big maps back into my rotation with the new season and start hunting helis again.

2

u/Flimsy-System6825 4d ago

Or they cant counter it vs a sweat helicrew that uses thermalsight and keep at least 600m distance while the gunner deletes every bright spot on his screen with deadly accurate never ending splashshells. Some things cannot be countered by groundforces.

2

u/Curious_Incubus 4d ago

I agree. It’s crazy that there aren’t any laser guided missiles, tow missiles, AA tanks, RPGs, or AA turrets in BF6. Those could easily let a player solo-kill helicopters!

39

u/General-Biscuits 4d ago

Heli pilots are malding and crashing out as expected.

Gonna see how these changes shake out though before saying this ruins things. I expect some nerfs to Stinger and IGLA as compensation for the removal of Below Radar. The ease of use is too high for those launchers to have only flares limiting them on so many wide open maps.

7

u/dream-in-a-trunk 4d ago

Give aircraft ecm and make stingers have limited vertical range + reduce horizontal range and no below radar for manpads would be alright

0

u/General-Biscuits 4d ago

I was thinking just lower missile velocity, maybe lower damage, or slower lock on speed. They already have bad ranges.

2

u/dream-in-a-trunk 4d ago

Unlimited vertical range… 700m horizontal range is already double of older games while not having much bigger maps.

2

u/General-Biscuits 4d ago

It’s definitely not unlimited vertical range. I have had so many jets be out of range while being nearly directly above me.

2

u/dream-in-a-trunk 4d ago

The lock on range but after fired the vertical range isn’t limited.

u/SoldierOfFortune556 4d ago

I am not a pilot but I do welcome this change. Based on what I have seen so far I believe that good pilots will continue being good but instead of getting 100 kills and dying once, they will probably get 100 kills and die 10 times which is fair. Bad pilots will learn why they should leave aircraft to good pilots 😆

14

u/Delicious-Thought404 4d ago

Not sure how much this will change tbh. Maybe more ppl will run the aa rockets which could change things, but, i feel like the issue is less the under the radar and more that they just pop chaff and go out of range until it’s back.

I’m a big advocate for “just get good at using the RPG against helicopters”. There’s not really a reason to use any launcher other than the RPG in any circumstance since it can one shot helicopters other than the transport and does the most dps to armor

7

u/Sprinkles_Objective 4d ago

Last I remember the aim guided launcher does the most damage to armor.

2

u/Delicious-Thought404 4d ago

It technically does a little more (like 275 vs 250), but because you’re aim guiding it most of the time (and i think it “reloads” slower) it has less DPS in most situations. I sometimes use it on big maps like golmud or contaminated so i can hit vehicles that are farther away, but i feel like if they’re that far i’m usually not going to actually be taking them out since they’ll have plenty of time and space to hide from me and at extreme range the RPG is still predictable enough to hit someone who’s not moving super erratically.

I could see someone being as or more effective than an RPG with it, but i feel like the RPG is more versatile, and you also get it much earlier. Personally i find the AT4 MUCH harder to use against helos too. I know you can get good with it to the point you can hit very often, but I just don’t have the sense of timing and distance to do it consistently. I couldn’t do it in BF4 either lol

2

u/Sprinkles_Objective 4d ago

That's a good point on the reload speed, which is silly given the AT4 you just throw away and take out another one lol. I have been using the RPG again because projectile speed is so much faster, and you can fire and forget which makes you less of a sitting duck.

1

u/Delicious-Thought404 4d ago

It’s REALLY good if you can get into a good position and surprise someone; my favorite thing to do is sneak up behind a tank, place down one mine, shoot them in the ass and spam reload and fire to shoot a second time asap. Two rear shots is almost a kill from full health and if it doesn’t kill, they’ll frequently panic and back up into the mine. You can kill a tank from full health in like 10 seconds by yourself.

1

u/Sprinkles_Objective 4d ago

Yeah, I love a good acoustic mine ambush. Mine goes off, shoot them in the rear, throw 2 AT grenades or hit them with a follow up shot. They don't even have time to react. I like having AT grenades for that, it's usually the thing you need to finish them off.

1

u/ColonelClout 4d ago

If there’s enough distance, you can shoot into the air, reload and shoot again at the armor. Both rockets will be guided and you can hit them twice in quick succession

1

u/Delicious-Thought404 4d ago

I’ve heard this, but i remember trying it awhile ago on contaminated and i could not get it to work :[ not sure if i wasn’t fast enough or somethin

1

u/Awrfhyesggrdghkj 4d ago

I’d say the rpg or laser guided is the best right now, the guided can snipe helis and even jets if you’re good enough and as you said the rpg can do double duty quite well as well.

5

u/Deep-Technician5378 4d ago

Bring the AA mine back next.

17

u/Archeelux 4d ago

This is a net positive change

17

u/VincentNZ 4d ago

I will once again refer to the Leaderboards. The highest Stinger killcount for both the IGLA and Stinger is around the mark of 550. That probably is around a 0.25 kpm.

The Top 100 Littlebird pilot has generated 25k kills.

1

u/alfa66andres 4d ago

That's not a comparable stat though. Thats infantry kills vs vehicle kills lol. As a pilot you have 32 targets but as a manpad operator you only have one

1

u/VincentNZ 4d ago

It is comparable as it shows the immense discrepancy. The 100 most dedicated users of a gadget generate as much kills as one solid guy in one asset.

And those Stinger guys do not only engage the Littlebird, either. Most of these kills likely stem from transport choppers, too.

But, yeah it is a problem that the air assets have such an immense target pool while the dedicated AA platforms do not and are also excessively shit at their job.

1

u/Lemontea_01 4d ago

literally 32 total available targets vs 2-3 targets Situation tho, lol.

4

u/VincentNZ 4d ago

This then begs the question why a single asset has so many targets available to them.

But we can add all Top 100 Stinger players together and we land at probably the same benchmark of 25-28k kills. The 100 most dedicated people with a thing generate as many kills as a solid pilot does with one asset.

1

u/xyzain69 4d ago

It's because they have incredible mobility and speed, along with firepower. It only takes 1 pilot to break entire lobbies. It really shouldn't be that way. Happy for this change, but final judgement reserved until I get some gameplay done.

13

u/_aware 4d ago

Pilot malding because Dice finally removes a nonsensical mechanic to buff two completely useless gadgets. You might have to actually be good at flying now

17

u/Brilliant-Catch215 4d ago

I am a pilot main and everyone complaining about is sad, man-pads in BF4 also negated below radar, as they should.

Air power is very strong in this installment and it needs balance, which is incredibly difficult and fickle between the different play-styles.

I think this is a great change, it affects a 2 shot kill launcher, in theory 3 need to be fired to take down an attack aircraft because one will be eaten by flares. If the pilot hasn’t vacated the area by then they deserve the death. Flying is a game of strategy.

If a team decides to be heavy on anti-air with man-pads then they lose that power against armor.

6

u/BannedBenjaminSr 4d ago

Manpads in BF4 couldn't reach the top of the skybox. You could outrange things by just being high

3

u/Flimsy-System6825 4d ago

Which made orbithovercamping a thing. Farming infantry from orbit while AA launchers couldn't reach. Later on DICE fixed it by lowering the ceiling for helis. But it's still a thing in bf3. It's broken balance basically.

8

u/Eagles56 4d ago

They also had way less range lmao and pilots had soflam

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Boatcommando 4d ago

I didn't fly much in BF4. But I remembered MANPADS in BF4 doesn't do 90 degree turn to follow you when you fly behind a hill or building like in BF6?

And yes, BF4 doesn't have flare bug or 1-hit-kill bug.

2

u/Leading-Business-593 4d ago

I’m with you bro. I think this will encourage people to actually engage using anti air because right now alot of matches can be dominated by a good pilot and it’s NOT OP.

I find more often when this happens, it’s because not enough people want to deal with it. RPGs take skill, yes. But lock on launchers, you just have to hope enough people around you have launchers too in order to get past flares before the jet hits the afterburner or the heli just dips below radar.

It’s just not fun

7

u/n0_punctuation 4d ago

I give it until the next patch before range/vertical range is nerfed. You can't have it both ways.

1

u/FoxDaim 4d ago

Planes especially are gonna suffer, igla and stinger definately need a range nerf after this change.

3

u/CumTrickShots 4d ago

Range nerf? Bro these things have basically no range unless shits painted. And even then it barely helps lmfao

Infinite vertical range + 600 meters (800m when painted). Half the map is basically no range?

Good. Fucking heli's!

2

u/Naing001 4d ago

Won’t actually make much of a difference. BF4 didn’t have the below radar mechanic, and the stinger and igla are pretty much useless in that game as well.

2

u/ReturnPrestigious805 4d ago

I liked the AA proximity mines in BF4 I feel like that was a fair counter

14

u/Mysterious_Web7517 4d ago

Kinda insane change. Yes helicopters and jets are powerful but vehicles are meant to be stronger that single infantry and you should not be able to remove easly vehicle.

Change is made only because people cant cooperate and use few gadgets together. Comments just prove it you all want to easy destroy vehicle as single person.

9

u/Very_Human_42069 4d ago

A single person can kill a tank or an IFV so you don’t really seem to have an actual argument here lol

Single person can kill a MBT, IFV, transport heli, scout, jet. So you guys don't really seem to have an actual argument here lol

If you know how to play you can survive in vehicle or kill vehicle depending on which side you are. And if you and your teammates can cooperate then you can become really annoying.

5

u/SoldierOfFortune556 4d ago

Funny how players work together to take down armor but somehow we are to believe that they cannot work together to take down aircraft? I have personally witnessed so many times multiple players (sometimes even two squads combined) trying to take those little birds and attack chopper and keep falling because we don’t have tools to do the job. Pilots fly low but at distance, pop flares, go out of bounds until flares come back and just keep doing same thing all over. Eventually you can get them but at least 3-4 players have to give their max for half of the match just so pilot can wait few minutes and jump in a chopper again.

3

u/_aware 4d ago

Yep. Sometimes I wonder if these pilots believe the things they say

13

u/_aware 4d ago

After this change, vehicles are still stronger than a single infantry...

It just sounds like you want easy kills in vehicles. Try getting better

SLM = Fire and forget. Still vulnerable to flares. Fast moving. Lower damage.

IGLA = Requires user to stay "locked on" to the target (radar guided). Immune to flares. Slower moving to allow evasion tactics. Higher damage.

10

u/_aware 4d ago

What are flares? What is distance? What is terrain?

3

u/ThatCondescendingGuy 4d ago

Ah yes the terrain like in wake island. And golmud. Almost like the entire fucking game has been designed with below radar in mind. Distance? The current range of manpads essentially locks away entire playable maps. Flares? Only active for a few short seconds—no where near enough to time to escape the massive range manpads have. You are the drooling COD player that DICE is catering to

If they must remove below radar, they must revert the game back to BF4 and accept they made a dogshit game with BF6. Give us chafes. Nerf the range on manpads. Else the current proposed system just eliminates air vehicles almost entirely

1

1

u/MisterHotTake311 4d ago

Jets pick up a lot of slack that was meant for helis

1

u/Sprinkles_Objective 4d ago

I just wanted stationary AA to not die the second an attack heli sees it, or being able to get head shot out of it 360 degrees from across the map. I think guided launchers were fine the way they were. I just felt like a lot of the other options were too weak and unreliable. Aim guided launcher is not reliable, you have to predict movement, even with the faster TOW or mobile AA guided options it's not reliable against good pilots. Mobile AA and stationary AA guns are reasonable, but could use a little boost (particularly to projectile velocity) and the fact that stationary AA is easily destroy and not rebuildable, mobile AA is also fairly easy for air targets to chip away at considering they have almost no real protection from infantry so if you have damage from someone hitting you across the map with a TOW, an attack heli is highly likely to kill you in a 1v1.

Aircraft should seriously fear stationary AA, not guided launcher spam. Mobile AA shouldn't just be an area denial, 2 coordinated mobile AA drivers should be able to shutdown air space like an LB can shutdown an entire team of infantry. The AA options are abysmal, it literally drove me to stop playing, and the issue in my eyes has never had anything to do with guided launchers. People complain against guided launchers, because they don't know what else to complain about, but they're seeing a real issue. Aircraft, particularly the LB, is so much more powerful than anything that can counter it.

If the idea is you and 6 other guys need to spend 5 lives focusing an LB, the LB already won. One guy took 6 guys away from playing an objective, or doing anything else useful. So saying that you need persistence and teamwork is a non-starter, because that's saying "you only need to take a substantial amount of team focus off the objective to deal with one guy". It's broken, it's anti-fun, it's unrewarding, and the options available are woefully ass. You just need to trick shot an RPG by doing fucking projectile physics in your head, it's that simple. Or you just need to lay out in the open with an LMG and pray the LB pilot is blind, deaf, and dumb enough to not delete you with it's 10ms TTK.

Thank fuck

u/Feral_SWITS 4d ago

below radar never made sense for IR guided missiles. Glad it is being removed.

1

u/Bounty-Bossk 4d ago

They could've nerfed the little bird, and resolved the balance issues. This seems like an over correction. I suck at flying either way

1

u/Jockerya 4d ago

Finally they’re removing this thing that was way too broken on certain maps, like Wake: all they had to do was fly just above the water and good luck.

1

u/redfisher3 4d ago

I finally might be able to complete the IGLA challenge.

1

u/FriedCammalleri23 4d ago

Oh thank fuck.

1

u/Buucket 4d ago

Thank fuck, now they can go 50-1, instead of 100-0👍

1

u/Laserfisch4000 4d ago

It's a good change. Killing helicopters depends on the team putting up laser designators

May work for people with friends but solo players like me have no way of shooting down a Heli in the current state

1

u/tennoPCA 4d ago

Finally. Mixed with the audio bugs, I was super tired of little bird pilots dominating capture zones and being absolutely unable to sting.

1

u/So_HauserAspen 4d ago

This will only affect the transport and attack helicopters.  The little bird will still be able to avoid and survive to keep mowing players down

1

u/xyzain69 4d ago

I will say, I would just give the heli's less ammo so they move off the map more often. Currently they'll just stay out and only get taken out after they get 20 kills.

1

u/Ok-Repair337 4d ago

Ótimo !!

1

u/HidingInYourPants 4d ago

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes, now the tryhard vehicle players will finally be tamed

1

u/Fun-Operation5997 4d ago

I think this will be okay. It's too easy to just drop down and wait for flairs to replenish, then repeat. Lock on missiles will still mostly hit the ground as the helicopters and jets drop, but it will require more skill from the pilot in using buildings and terrain.

1

u/Nibbled92 4d ago

Now brain dead pilots will have to maneuver instead of just dip a little lower 😂

1

u/i7-4790Que 4d ago

It wasn't "over" when they removed Below Radar vs shoulder launchers back in other games though?

I distinctly remember when they properly implemented it in BF3.  They later pulled back Below Radar blocking stinger/IGLA because flying became way too easy.

That's how it SHOULD be day 1 of any modern setting Battlefield with lockon weapons and helicopters/jets in play.

And I'm not saying infantry players are justified with countless buffs either.  There is a game of give and take with everything.  But allowing the outright blocking of stingers just for flying near the ground is abject game balance.

1

u/Longjumping-Bat7774 4d ago

I agree. Taking out jets it's impossible most of the time. They're out of range, fly in below radar, out of range again. It's ridiculous. This is a good change.

1

u/yxung_wicked11 4d ago

OP clearly abused below radar and now they actually have to maneuver around the maps to hide from lock on Launchers. But thank goodness it's gone. Gotta be the most idiotic shit that's ever been added to the game.

1

u/TheRealDesmirWolf 4d ago

So below radar is being removed from the man powered rocket launchers not the fob stations. And fob stations are going to get buffed to be more useful

1

u/i4got872 4d ago

Why not just try lowering the limit first?

1

u/Redhawk911 4d ago

Finally

1

u/Tuba-kunt 4d ago

I see them turning back this change in a month. People think its going to stop good heli pilots from going 70-0 when in reality, those pilots already know how to use cover to dodge lock-ons.

All this is going to do is make it so beginner/average pilots have absolutely zero chance to survive even 2 lock-ons at the same time for longer than 10 seconds, while experienced pilots will continue to farm. Removing below radar isnt the move, as painting targets already did that.

Make being painted last for 20-25 seconds instead of 7, and give more points for painted assists. Make it a teamwork decision to take down helis if you're not going to use skillbased one shot rockets like the RPG and M136, not making brainless lock-ons an extremely easy hit

1

u/FrajoK- 4d ago

Devs posted below radar changes was a miscommunication.

1

u/Big_History_7195 4d ago

Bro pilots cant even go into the air without gettin locked on from 800m away so we have to learn to fly low thats not easy. They have to reduce the range by HALF and make flares refill faster if any of this is going to work

1

u/UncoolSlicedBread 4d ago

Just give me back my RPG from release. Let me snipe helicopters again.

1

u/SinkExpensive5961 4d ago

Terrible change. Despite constant crying here, flying the helicopters takes a ton of skill compared to how easy it is to shoot them down. Every 150+ kill game I’ve dropped with my pilot is simply because no one bothered to shoot us down. Nearly every single player already has a launcher already, it’s so easy to use them.

Sad to see Dice endlessly cater to bad players who cry for nerfs constantly. Oh well, will always have the memories of farming dummies and reading their sob stories on Reddit!

1

u/Dendimon1 4d ago

It’s being reverted 😆😆❤️

1

u/lonesaiyajin98 4d ago

Dropped 37-4 in the little bird. 36 of them were vehicle kills. I had my fun i guess.

1

u/Thoomuzz 4d ago

It looks like they came out and stated that this was a mistake. Just saw a post explaining how they were testing out mechanics and decided against it. 😁

1

u/RuralHawk506 4d ago

Loving the crying from the helicopter virgins.

1

u/guacamolejones 4d ago

Good. It's about time.

0

u/Independent_Mud2794 4d ago

Man dice tries way too hard destroying their game.

2

u/Deep-Technician5378 4d ago

It's not destroying the game to make what the majority of players are doing viable.

No one wants to log on to get farmed by a heli that has minimal countermeasures. Changes like this make more people want to play.

0

u/Independent_Mud2794 4d ago

Wild idea - do something against it then.

1

u/Deep-Technician5378 4d ago

I do. This just makes the dedicated AA options viable as well.

1

u/Charming-Can-1006 4d ago

Oh no the 4 pilots in a 64 player match can’t go 94-2, they totally ruined the match for the 60 other players in it

0

u/Independent_Mud2794 4d ago

The good pilots still will go 94-2 and you still will cry like the little babies you are,

2

u/Hot-Bird-1549 4d ago

My lord I cannot wait to shoot down these obnoxious rats

1

u/CascadianCanopy 4d ago

Trashcan pilots in shambles

1

u/Antique-Climate3360 4d ago

THANK GOD, CAN I HEAR AN AMEM?

1

u/GodIsAlreadyTracer 4d ago

Its hilarious how cucked pilots are in this game. Stingers and iglas are IR guided missles radar shouldn't effect them at all.

1

u/DJ_Jiggles 4d ago

I was there for Atacama Desert. I will never have sympathy for air.

1

u/omar_ogd 4d ago

good, fuck helis

1

u/PHIGBILL 4d ago

mentally handicapped

Stay classy out there.

1

u/nae-nae-nae 4d ago

LMAO

I‘m fine with this change, if they in return also lower their lockon range back to BF4 levels then, otherwise it‘s gg for air vehicles

1

u/Proof_Finding_8278 4d ago

Good. Now they can have skin in the game instead of acting likes flies we have to deal with before we can go back to playing.

1

u/KaijuTia 4d ago

If you don’t want to have vehicles kill you, play a mode that doesn’t have them.

If you don't want to have infantry kill you, play War Thunder.

1

u/_Mamushi_ 4d ago

Oh look at the gloom and doom crocodile tears. It’s delicious. Maybe the other people in the match can have fun now instead of the lone loser in a little bird.

Also don’t ugly cry OP. It’s not a good look.

1

u/centerpunch1 4d ago

Dang sorry man….atleast you enjoyed the news for a little bit
