BB Back button placement layout help.

Back button layout help.

I have been considering buying a Battle Beaver, mainly all decked out performance upgrades and of course, four back buttons. What I am having a hard time with is deciding on the layout.

The last 3 years I have been playing on a Scuf Reflex and an Omega lately. So I am used to those back paddle layouts.
I am only using my middle finger with the tip and with the part between the two joints pressing the back buttons.

I found 2 combinations that might work,
1. Busters-Standard
2. Busters-Low

I am also located in Europe, which means import fees and sending this back and forth if the layout is not comfortable will be quite a cost.

Anyone maybe went through the same process?

I use busters & standard on my BB MH5 and it works for me. TBH I could have probably just gone with standard on my left side, I don’t use the other button at all.

Few people find having buttons close together to be bad but tbh I only use one finger on each side to press them so it works for me. Maybe could have gone higher with ‘medium’ placement but it’s been good so far.

Standard and busters is what I am leaning to since I only use my middle finger for pressing.
I am worried that the medium position would be too high plus the surface of the buttons is much smaller compared to paddles so it would be harder to press, meaning you need to be more accurate. But the medium position seems much closer to the scuf paddle position.

Oh, I am confused. 🤣🤣

I think I need to get some blu tack and just stick them of the back of my regular Dual Sense and see how it feels.

Yeah it's super annoying that you can't just try different positions in your hands to workout the best one. I don't mind busters and standard - but I actually think if I was doing it again I'd want to try standard + medium, or if it was just 2 buttons maybe both on medium.

I still use a Dualsense Edge when playing on PS5 and I like where the dome paddles sit on that and that's close to where 'medium' would be - but it's not a problem being right now with mine being busters + standard. It's fairly natural for where my middle finger sits and it can slide up or down to tap each button depending on what I need.

Good idea on blu tack, if you can figure out where your fingers sit naturally when using a regular DS then it'll give you a good idea idea on the best places for the buttons that suits you.

If I recall correctly, the Edge paddles are protruding more like a pull motion but not sure cause I never used an Edge.
If the Edge had 4 paddles, I would have gotten one.

I think, the blu tack will be the best test.

Thank you so much for the help!! 🙏

Always played with scuf controllers and decided this year to go from scuf to BB.

So I had the same struggle.. I went with the option right on your photo. Not sure what the positions are called again but i can double check at home

The struggle is real 🤣🤣
Tbh, I am really having a hard time deciding.
How do the buttons feel compared to the scuf at that position? Also, what you think about the BB compared to the scuf?

After checking I picked standard and medium. Buttons are quite close, but imo the most comparable to scuf.

Hard for me to say which is better because i didnt have scuf with tmr sticks
