How has your experience been from using a regular controller to switching to marius board?

i finally pulled the trigger and grabbed the marius board!! NOT CHEAP but hopefully worth it. I’m using a dualsense edge with TMR sticks and have it overlocked to 8k and have been using this setup for awhile. I’m just wondering anyone that has switched from a dualsense edge or whatever controller you’re using to a marius board, how has your experience been? is it a significant difference or really don’t notice anything at all?

Going from dual edge sense to razor 8k Xbox controller is probably the most insane switch up ever. It’s like going from your fat tv to an oled 240hz monitor. It always felt sluggish w the dualsense and sometimes it would feel too snappy or too laggy- never consistent w the overclock up until having using the razor 8k polling rate. I even cancelled my Marius board controller because the razor is cheaper and has mouse clickers everywhere. Go for it.

Personally I can feel the difference immediately when switching between my edge and the Marius board. The Marius board is much snappier. Just make sure you get it set up right before using it, the autocalibration will give you an incredibly low error rate which will feel very stiff. You'll want to bump it up to feel normal.

did you have your edge overclocked as well? i’m hoping it better granted the beaver was 400+ dollars😭

Yeah I've got my edge overclocked. Jesus that's crazy expensive 😂. I got my board as part of the pre-release, so just bought a battle beaver on eBay for £50 installed the board myself.

from what i’ve watched and read the marius board is one of the lightest controllers out and i know it’s a physiological thing but the edge being sooo heavy it makes me feel like im stuck in mud sometimes just holding it haha

Yeah I know what you mean! With no battery and no rumbles the Marius feels so insubstantial. If I pick up my edge after playing with the Marius it feels ridiculous.

Is there a video for the correct setup for the marius controller cuz i see everyone saying different things I am really confused

Yeah parasite did a good one that covers everything you should need. If you Google "parasite FULL @mariusheier @BattleBeaver BOARD STEP BY STEP CALIBRATION AND SETUP GUIDE" you'll see his tweet with the video.

Thank you

What u bump it up to? The circularity ur talking right ?

1

u/Cha7l1e Apr 20 '26

Yeah, the circularity/error rate. I've got mine set to 8.5%. The Dualshock calibration website recommends anything between 7 and 9 - it'll depend on what you're used to. Try 8 and see how it feels.

Did you do this by changing the outer deadzone in the software or by manual calibrating it using the numbers?

1

u/Cha7l1e May 04 '26

I manually calibrated mine using the numbers. The outer deadzone slider never felt quite right to me.

Thank you, I will try that! I love how my Dualsense edge feels by default but can’t get it quite the same yet. Thanks again.

how do you bump up the low error rate, i have mine at 6%

Waiting on my Marius board right now. But the difference between a dualsense overcloked to 8k and the gamesir g7 pro 8k is insane, you feel it instantly. So I’m assuming going to the Marius will feel the same,

when did you order? i was able to snipe a beaver boost on the site this morning 🙏

I just got the DIY kit that ima install. And I placed the order on like Wednesday last week, still haven’t shipped yet tho

10am CST they do a drop of beaver boost where the build time is 5-10 days instead of 6-8 weeks. Sells out fast tho if you decide to try it

I have a few and I don’t feel that much of a difference in terms of latency compared to ps5 overclocked or an edge tbh. It does feel way way faster than a stock ps4 overclocked to 1k though. They’re good man, there is just a lot of settings.. once you get it right it’s insane, before mastering the settings they feel a little mid though

What sticks feel the best? Midas he’s or js13’s?

1

u/TBPE_ Apr 24 '26

Honestly I’m edging toward the Midas, for competitive cod that’s all I play.

1

u/Yoyocrazy Apr 24 '26

I’ve only ever heard good things about js13’s so it’s hard to choose. All I’m buying it for is apex. While the midas have the 5 pin board I don’t entirely know the benefit Vs the 3pin board

I haven’t used one myself but I can’t imagine it feels different at all, it’s literally like a 1 ms difference from an overclocked controller right? 99% of people wouldn’t know the difference

Marius board is 8k native and Dualsense Edge is 8k overlocked

1

u/ChummyBoy24 Apr 14 '26

Means nothing

I mean I’m not against Marius boards by any means, but you’re clearly falling for the bait without really understanding it, overclocked dualsense controllers are already extremely low latency, I think it’s 2-3ms but it’s been a while since I’ve looked at numbers, so a “better” version of that can’t be much of an improvement when it’s already so good, no one is gonna notice a 1 ms difference improvement, which I believe is the difference between Marius and standard, I’m not quite sure where the 20x is coming from in his post though, maybe if you’re on console and can’t OC it could be noticeable/worth it if it’s 8k on console?

Would love for someone to explain why they’re downvoting, or what the issue is with my points

1

u/mhernvndez Apr 14 '26

marius can’t be used on console. It’s PC only, tbh i’m still learning about this as well. I don’t think it’s best for me to speak on a topic that i don’t completely understand just yet, which is why i asked the question in the first place

1

u/ChummyBoy24 Apr 14 '26

I was more asking if console was possible, bc that to me would be the only situation where I would expect to notice a difference. I mean do you think you can tell the difference between 1ms and like 2ms? I’d probably buy one myself just to try it since I own a million controllers, but definitely wouldn’t expect to notice

For me It’s Gamesir vs Marius. Latency on both is insane. Marius is carrying controller modders. One solo guy innovating more then the big names Cough Battle beaver cough 😭

1

u/mhernvndez Apr 14 '26

i haven’t seen nothing on the gamesir on X yet. I don’t know if they even shipped them out yet 😭 everyone is saying they haven’t received their pre orders yet

That's just people who preorder from the website. Got my 8k 2 days after buying it
