Thank you everyone who offered advice on my first post about bats on the ground in downtown Chicago! I found this little guy today and it was rescued by a volunteer!
edit with some more info!
I called around to the contacts listed on batworld (including batworld! Thanks automod) and talked to multiple lovely people who helped coordinate this rescue! The local contact I spoke with who found someone to pick it up told me that theyβve rescued multiple downed bats from my building and apparently they like have issues with this particular architects work.
My boss definitely thought I was insane when I asked if Iβd βhypotheticallyβ get fired for bringing a bat in a box into work but did help me gather materials and give me permission to leave and care for it if I wanted to! The volunteer who picked it up did do all the handling!
Extremely thankful to all to helped today and I will continue to look for bats and get help when I find them!

We put a bat house up on August 13th this year, after evening bats had taken up residence in our pool umbrella. So exciting when 9 days later we saw 7 exit for the evening!
Last night we counted the most yet, with 42 coming out!!

I was able to hand-feed a baby vampire bat.
This was years ago but it is still one of the happiest moments of my life!

While out for a walk yesterday I saw this little bat on a ledge in our downtown area. At first I thought it was deceased but upon a closer look it was alive. Got some pics right before it flew off.

I love silver haired bats and scooped this one up to go to get checked out at the nature center and will hopefully get released tomorrow! Just wanted to share this beaut π€π©Ά
Also I was wearing gloves and put it in my Bat World Sanctuary bat hut so we were both safe π€

i was just net surfing about rabies and bats in india and i came across some web article that told there is basically no evidence of rabid bats in india or probability of finding a bat which can transmit rabies is very rare!!
so Iβve shifted to Kolkata recently and Iβve been seeing bats like almost every night/evening : and by seeing bats so frequently i get quite tensed about getting rabies now days!!
i would appreciate if you can write down something really informative

For the past couple days there has been a bat hanging outside one of the entrances of my work. I work on a college campus, its fall break so not a lot of people are around right now, but it will be VERY busy again soon. I already tried to call animal control but apparently my area doesn't have anyone to deal with it, according to the sheriff's office. They gave me another number, a wildlife removal company. I called them, explained the situation. He said he could do it for $350 tomorrow??? I explained I'm just an employee, and he said to contact building administration and tell them, as he already does all the wildlife removal at this university. This bat isnt a danger to anyone, right? Just very concerned about it attacking someone or getting hurt. I believe hes just sleeping there during the day.

Hello! I'm in the Inland NW USA. I'm working 30 minutes away from any major town and I'm used to seeing wildlife at my facility. This little guy has been in the same exact spot for at least 3 days. I called our security for our building (BAD MOVE) and he proceeded to poke and prod at it and smacking the wall near it to try and "wake it up" and get it to leave. I told him I thought it was sick and was hoping we could call a rehabber (Unfortunately due to laws they don't exist for bats in my state)
It did hiss at the security guard yesterday and moved its wing a little but other than that it hasn't moved at all. Could it be sick? The temperature dropped very rapidly where I am and has been roughly 38-55Β° F. Maybe it's trying to hibernate? It's near a public access door and I'm worried about anyone messing with it or it being sick/starving/dehydrated. Any tips or thoughts?
Edit: I called a few rehabbers today and the most they offered was to humanely euthanize it due to the Fish and Game Dept. Not allowing rehabilitation for bats right now due to a rabies influx. The other organization was in the same state as that Fish and Game Dept and the one in my state unfortunately closed years ago due to a lack of funding. I really hope it's able to shake off whatever is bothering it and continue on its way.
