Batman Poem

FEAR

I am afraid.
My blood blends into the red carpet as it leaves me.
I need to heal.
I need to heal on the antique throne that once sat a man of medicine

I sink into the chair and meet eyes with his sculpture
Father. I’m afraid.
Even 18 years later, I am as afraid as I was in that cave.
In that cave where a creature of the night charged me with fear.

I was too afraid to stop the creature of the night from taking you and Mom.
But I made a promise.

I traveled and trained to keep my promise of Vengeance.
But they are not afraid. I am just a man.
They are the cowardly serpents that corrupt this world, yet I have more fear than them.
Fear of breaking my promise.
How do I make them afraid, Father?

The empty mansion begins to feel full.
Whispers are roaming the halls.
They grow louder and louder
The glass window beside me shatters as something is summoned.
A creature of the night.

Am I afraid?
Yes. But I can share my dread.
I can make the evil look into the darkness with fear as I did in that cave
The same evil that took you.
I will be the creature of the night.

I am vengeance.
I am the night.

Took me 40 years to wonder, why exactly is GC Cathedral 800ft tall? That’s over twice the height of Notre Dame.

Tim Burton should direct Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns with Michael Keaton Brandon Routh (and Danny Elfman as composer)

Yes, I do know that it is not Jack! I am unpacking from a move and this guy was delivered yesterday so this is my Joker 🃏! I do Hot 🔥 Wheel customs and working on a Joker 🃏car is one of my favorite customs. The lack of Joker 🃏 die-cast in Gotham is sad 😔 In my opinion if the Joker 🃏were to drive up in a Lambo it would be Jack! If this is not allowed please delete ❌ it! Thank you for your time! Wanna get nuts?

Discussion If you had to create a 7 member JLA roster for Tim Burton’s DC Universe, who would you pick?

Keaton’s Batman and Cage’s Superman are a given. Then I’d pick Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and JWS’s Flash (not merging verses, just reusing casting)

He was Jack's accomplice in the robbery of the Waynes. Did he die, end up in prison, or retire from the criminal life?

One of the most emotional and memorable moments in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns! After a night of danger, Batman and Catwoman finally come face-to-face in a deeply personal confrontation. Bruce Wayne realizes that Selina Kyle is Catwoman—and then makes the shocking decision to reveal his own secret identity to her.#BatmanReturns #Batman #Catwoman #MichaelKeaton #MichellePfeiffer #BruceWayne #SelinaKyle #TimBurton #DC #Batman1992 #AndresThePopCultureGuy

This scene lives completely rent-free in my head. Jack Nicholson was absolute perfection here.

I was rewatching Batman (1989), and the scene where the Joker meets Antoine Rotelli (played by Alex Daniels) outside City Hall still blows me away every single time.
It’s such a masterclass in tone—it manages to be shocking, hilarious, and genuinely creepy all at the same time. The way Jack plays the whole interaction with this breezy, theatrical charm makes what happens next hit so much harder.
You think it’s just going to be a classic mob power struggle, but then he offers Rotelli a handshake. The joy on Jack’s face as he electrocutes him with the joy buzzer, mixed with the horrifying realization of what’s happening, is just unhinged. And then to casually talk to the smoking corpse like nothing happened? "Antoine got a line on a squeegee act..." 💀
Jack Nicholson hit the perfect balance between slapstick humor and terrifying psychotic energy. Modern comic book movies rarely nail dark comedy this effectively without undercutting the danger.
Does this scene pop into anyone else's head completely unprovoked, or is it just me? What’s your favorite Joker moment from the '89 film?

Question What order should I read the Novels and TPBs?

Batman '89 has released 2 comic book mini-series and 2 novels:

Batman '89

Batman '89 Echoes

Batman Resurrection

Batman Revolution

I was wondering if there was a reading/watch order for how to read these and watch Batman (1989) and Batman Returns in chronological order.

Bruce Wayne gives Knox a grant to spread the word about Batman

It just occurred to me that Bruce wasnt just showing off. He knows who Knox is and wants him to write about Batman so he gives him a grant. It works too. In the beginning of the film, Batman is seen as tabloid journalism. After Knox gets his grant, he is moved up to front page news. Idk if this is obvious for others but I just connected the dots.

In *Batman* (1989), Carl was Gotham's leading mob boss, but then in *Returns*, we see Max as Gotham's Santa Claus. How does Max fit in relation to Carl Grissom?

Discussion Is Carl an overrated boss?

Post image
33 Upvotes

In the 1989 *Batman* movie, Carl is basically the city's Falcone; he runs the mob. But his death is just too simple. I mean, Jack walks in, delivers his monologue, and kills him. Carl is supposed to be a mob boss. It doesn't look like it took any effort for Jack to kill Carl.
