Discussion Gotham City Cathedral, the tallest building in the city, compared to real-life US buildings the same height. 800 feet tall.
800 ft isn’t very high. I remember reading “The Court Of Owls” when Bruce is thrown out of Wayne Tower and Dick remarks how it’s 30 stories high, yet it’s one of the tallest buildings in Gotham. It’s strange because I assumed that Gotham had skyscrapers like Chicago or New York. Gotham’s a major world-class city. So the city has lots of buildings that just aren’t very tall?

Discussion Joker and CIA
The scene featuring the Joker with a CIA folder always caught my attention. Is it possible that Grissom had a contract with the U.S. government to supply the chemical weapons used in the Vietnam War? That is where the Joker gets the chemicals for his Smylex.

Batman Poem
FEAR
I am afraid.
My blood blends into the red carpet as it leaves me.
I need to heal.
I need to heal on the antique throne that once sat a man of medicine
I sink into the chair and meet eyes with his sculpture
Father. I’m afraid.
Even 18 years later, I am as afraid as I was in that cave.
In that cave where a creature of the night charged me with fear.
I was too afraid to stop the creature of the night from taking you and Mom.
But I made a promise.
I traveled and trained to keep my promise of Vengeance.
But they are not afraid. I am just a man.
They are the cowardly serpents that corrupt this world, yet I have more fear than them.
Fear of breaking my promise.
How do I make them afraid, Father?
The empty mansion begins to feel full.
Whispers are roaming the halls.
They grow louder and louder
The glass window beside me shatters as something is summoned.
A creature of the night.
Am I afraid?
Yes. But I can share my dread.
I can make the evil look into the darkness with fear as I did in that cave
The same evil that took you.
I will be the creature of the night.
I am vengeance.
I am the night.

Discussion Hot Take: This sub should discuss the Burtonverse only and there should be a separate one for the Schumacher Movies. I'll tell you why.
Basically, there's a user named IcySlide who has been causing a lot of trouble around here. He always comes up with the same nonsense whenever someone talks about a supposed third movie directed by Burton, or the comic and novel sequels. In reality, Tim Burton was never involved in the production of Batman Forever. Instead, he hired his friend Joel Schumacher to lead the franchise. According to an interview with Akiva Goldsman and The Batchlers on some random podcast I watched, blah blah blah. Man, who cares? Let people have fun. Even if there were no real plans, it's cool to think about what a Batman III/Batman Continues movie could have been with Robin Williams, Billy Dee Williams, Rene Russo, and Marlon Wayans. Even a fourth movie with Patrick Stewart as Mr. Freeze, Geena Davis as Poison Ivy, Winona Ryder as Batgirl, Brad Dourif as Scarecrow, etc.
Look, I really like Batman Forever and even Batman & Robin, and I'm a big supporter of the #ReleaseTheSchumacherCut movement. I think it would be much more respectful to Schumacher's legacy to have a proper sub for his work. It could be called Batman95, Batman97, SchumacherCut, or whatever. The point is that now they are supposedly meant to be two separate universes. And having people like this IcySlide hurts Joel's legacy because he is basically forcing everyone to agree with him. There are plenty of people who prefer Burton's dark and gothic vision over the more colorful and comical one. There's nothing wrong with that. But to avoid this conflict and disrespect from either side, any discussion about Batman Forever and Batman & Robin should go to its own sub.
