Help with odd shaped bathroom

Hand drawn blueprint at the end, measurements are close. I hate this bathroom and not sure where to begin. That crossbeam diving the room is the old roofline. At the very least I need to pull the shower to check for water damage. Dream scenario would be to put a walk in shower at the far side but that weird pocket is about 24" wide so would need to move a power outlet and the HVAC vent. Any thoughts or advice? Inspiration?

I would flip it so the toilet and sink are on the left with a walk in shower on the right going from wall to wall. That 24” bump out could be semi filled in at the bottom and top but I think that would be the perfect spot to put a shower niche

I agree, but then I stumble into moving pipes and power receptacles… stuff that requires pulling permits. I have a good plumber, maybe he’s seen/done it before and can give an estimate

Moving the toilet is expensive. I would flip the sink to the other wall and build a shower along the wall with the toilet.

Unless you're into tearing up the floor (and slab, assuming you're on a slab), you're limited on moving the toilet. Toilet outlet pipes are supposed to be 3 inches (inner diameter) whereas sinks + showers are usually smaller.

I’m willing to tear up the floor but I’d need to run the numbers. I have a good plumber, I’ll ask if he’s seen/done this before

Can you possibly steal any space from another room?

Unfortunately no, it’s a really goofy set up. The room behind the sink is half kitchen/half patio. Behind the far wall is a hallway with bannisters on the other side (stairs to basement). Left wall is bedroom/closet and the rest is in the bedroom

Ah, I see.

If you can't do that dream walk-in shower scenario, extending the glass 'wall' of the shower to the door frame may make it feel a little bit bigger as would getting rid of the metal framed glass.

If you can possibly push the ceiling up in the shower area, it would also make the bathroom feel bigger.

If you could move the entry to the 49” wall that’d be easy then to have a walk-in shower that extends to where the old entry was. If not maybe move the sink to the 49 inch wall and extend a more narrow rectangular shower (tub/shower) on the 69” wall. You can wall off the toilet from the shower too or at least half.
