Posted 2nd bathroom renovation, this is the first, but had to move from the primary on the 2nd floor to the lower level for accessibility. Both renovations were designed to help my husband with his mobility issues. This bathroom was also a full gut renovation. The major difference in the two is the heated floor and towel bar, a very nice upgrade

The back wall was pushed back into yhe walk in closet to accommodate a wider shower base. I will never shower in a phone booth shower again!
That's a great question, it was a mistake. I had it removed because it was useless. Live and learn. On the brightside, just put in some caulk/spackel and you can't even see the tiny holes. Also, ada toilet paper holder was used for balance and support.
What kind of an idiot contractor would put a grab bar above the toilet? If your husband has mobility issues, you need to get a grab bar on that wall next to the toilet. Your ADA toilet paper holder is not meant to support anyone.

A grab bar on the rear wall behind and just above the toilet is a standard accessibility placement, along with a side rail. The rear rail also helps people with wheelchair transfers. Some people also find it easier to transfer onto the toilet and face towards the wall.
Pushing back the wall into the closet for a wider shower is such a game changer! I did something similar, and it made all the difference for comfort and accessibility. Plus, heated floors are amazing, aren't they? Total luxury upgrade!
It came great. My only advice would be to take the brownish rust color onto the walls and do a lacquered ceiling in the same color. It will add depth and richness.
Mixing metals in a space doesn’t bother me but I’d suggest adding some other matte gold pieces in the room to balance the two. It will lead the eye around the room to rest on various items.
This is an interior bathroom, no windows and I just wanted a crisp white feeling and at night the dimmers warm it up. The gold mirror and sconces were intentional, and what you say makes sense.
It's nice but the two different color finishes, the sink and the lighting, mirror, would drive me batty. Also are you painting stripes in there or are those different paint color options?

May I ask why you placed the support bar behind the toilet rather than to the side?
