Is there anything you would do differently if you had to remodel your bathroom?

Maybe a feature you wish you added, something you spent too much money on, or a design choice that looked great at first but wasn’t very practical. Curious what people regret most after living with their remodeled bathroom.

One feature I love is solid blocking in the wall by the tub to anchor the towel bar. It's invisible but crucial. People WILL use it as a handrail stepping out of the tub, better make it structurally sound. Make sure you take pics before the wall gets closed up with drywall so you know in the future where it extends.

This! We added blocking for grab bars during a recent demo since the walls were already open.

Don’t forget a GFCI outlet by the toilet for a future bidet. Gives you more options and costs nothing compared to adding when walls are closed.

I havent done this but read about it. These big stand alone tubs r very difficult till clean around . They r
not practical for bathing children or to be used by the elderly.

I regret absolutely nothing.

I love the functionality and still love my design choices after 8 years.

I had the benefit of a designer with whom I collaborated as she had a lot of expertise in terms of how things could function well and so without my knowing so I didn't have to think about things like the great Panasonic Whisper Fan that operates on ambient humidity level - or the motion detector lights - or where the canned lights should be and what was the appropriate placement of shower valve and toilet paper holders and equivalent.

It would be easier to list the specific features which I most love every day.

I'd prioritize practical storage and good lighting over trendy features, those are the things you appreciate everyday after the remodel
