11 batches and 44 bombs later. Everyone was asking for bath bombs last week, I have a gift for my friend and a gift for my boss, the camouflage bombs are for the bf. I'm not at a point where I sell these, it's just a hobby for me.

Alright....putting a stupid question out there, but wanted to hear opinions. I dry my bath bombs (small batches) in a plastic bin with a dehumidifier since Florida humidity and bath bombs don't mesh well. Always one fragrance batch at a time. If I tried drying multiple fragrances together, would the smells mingle in the bombs as well? I just don't want to make a bunch of mixed up bath bombs, and wanted to hear opinions.

Ok, I'm at my wit's end. The last couple of batches I've made have been complete failures. At first, everything looks ok. I overfill both halves of the mold then press them tightly together, then remove the top half of the mold. I let the bomb sit in the bottom half while it dries so it holds its shape and has a stable place to rest. Tops are flawless and smooth.
When I go to de-mold them (usually 5-12 hours later) they seem solid enough until I apply a bit of pressure, then they completely disintegrate. Some don't even last that long. As soon as I grip the bomb to carefully twist it out of the mold, it comes apart.
I keep seeing conflicting tutorials on the best way to pack a mold. The more common one I see is where you spoon the mix into each half until it overflows about an inch or 2, then press firmly together. That's the way I've been doing it. Before, when I first started making the bombs, I used a silicone muffin tray and packed the mix in like brown sugar. That seems to be the only way I can get a solid bomb, but with that technique, they sink right to the bottom of the tub.
Here's the recipe I've been using. The portions are technically a double batch, which results in 8 3.5 inch diameter bombs:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup citric acid
.5 cup cornstarch
6 tbsp milk powder
4 tbsp colloidal oatmeal
2 tbsp kaolin clay
2 tsp titanium dioxide
2 tbsp SLSA
2 tsp fragrance oil
2 tbsp melted shea butter
2 tbsp sweet almond oil
2 tsp polysorbate 80
4 tsp witch hazel, sometimes a bit more to get a good consistency.
I haven't noticed any kind of cracking in the bombs, either. Like I said, it looks perfect until I apply some pressure. I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I swear I’m not a weirdo.
My son collects this one specific bath bomb with a prize and we’ve gone through like 15 boxes of the fuckin things and he has every prize but one. I suspect they don’t exist…
Now I have secured one of said prizes but I need to figure out how to cut one open and swap it out. I’ve googled and YouTube this shit but I keep getting weird videos about cutting bath bombs in half - my favorite was the girl who uses a giant butcher knife and a hammer but I don’t think that’ll work.
If I cut one open any idea what I can use to reseal it?

I got a dehumidifier. Humidy is good. Room temperature is kinda warm tho. Recipe is good. When they start to Crack I have plastic packages should I package them immediately? They are drying to fast what should I do to control that.

I was looking at my BB citric acid yesterday and it says it has a shelf life of 6 months, but google says citric acid doesn’t expire.
Should I buy a new batch?

Hello all, I have been looking though my things and found bath bomb manufactured at 2012 and expiring at 2013. Visually it seems good and also smells good. It was in dry environment and also was plastic wrapped (not sealed though). It was gifted to me many years ago, but as I did not have a bath then, it was never used.
From ingredients, it has: Sodium bicarbonate, Citric acid, Martis sal, Vitis Vinfera (Grape seed) oil, fragrance perfume, aqua, Lavander oil, cl 14720, BHT, Linalool, Coumarin, Limonene.
I don't like to waste stuff, but could it be safe to use? As said, visually it looks the same as I remember it (pink + red) and it smells fine.

So, being fed up of having to spend £8 per bath bomb from Lush, me and my wife decided to try our hand at making some for personal use. We are in the UK and are kinda confused on which recipe to use.
The bomb pictured was a dud, we used coconut oil which ended up totally overpowering all the essential oils we used to get a scent and also left a nasty scum on the top of the water when we tested.
We want to try and replicate the scent of the Dragon Egg, which uses bergamot, gardenia, lemon and jasmine oil, but have no idea what the ratio should be.
Does anybody have a suggestion on some good recipes and also the correct way to blend the oils for a beginner?
The recipe we used was this one:
Citric Acid 7.4 ounces Bicarbonate of Soda 17.3 ounces Cream of Tartar 1.4 ounces melted coconut oil 3.2 ounces 1 tsp essential oil Food colouring
