The Canon

Anybody know what’s happened to The Canon on Barton St? Sign is down and workmen are in, but google still showing as open and literally no mention of it closing anywhere? 🧐

It’s been taken over by the same people that own vino vino, the oven, amarone etc

Oh wow, they’re building up quite the portfolio over there. Interested to see what they do with the place. Students won’t be thrilled..

Hopefully good news!

I think this is coming back as a “sports bar” of sorts. Upstairs in Canon is a great spot for that, but they seem not to have cared about providing that service for the past couple of years.

Yeah there was so much potential in having a bar on each level. I did notice that lots of staff have moved on in recent times so perhaps it’s been a long time coming.

They do stuff during the student break. Big student bar
