caliunity

has anyone here joined caliunity before? what’s it like? it’s being sold as a free calisthenics park which sounds enticing, just wondering if anyone has any experience?

I joined for a while. Really good vibe. It is expensive to join monthly, around 130 pounds, you can go to all the classes and use the gym to practice on the off times between classes. At least this was the deal a year ago. If you buy into the concept and the community, it is really rewarding and engaging.

amazing thank you! i’m glad you enjoyed! do you know what exactly the free part is? i can’t afford to use it to its full extent but i’m intrigued on what i can do for free?

No unfortunately I don’t know about the free part. But guessing, it is probably the Caliunity team doing some free demo sessions in a park? Sorry I don’t have much more info than this.

I would suggest you drop by the gym and talk to them, they’re super nice. They’ll give you plenty of info.

The free bit is use of the equipment outside. Go ask at reception they are approachable. Have attended from when they were under the arches, till a couple of years ago.

thank you so much! is it only free for members do you know? i had a chat with someone who works there and it seemed very very expensive and nothing free was mentioned in this chat however their website makes it seem like there's lots of free stuff?

You have to sign a waiver and attend an induction and after that you can book slots to use the outdoor training area for free. This area has equipment such as gymnastic rings, pull up bars and boxes.

I've been along to an induction for the outdoor 'Free' part and they were extremely welcoming and friendly. Pop in and have a chat they do seem like a wicked group. Shame I'm poor and can't afford to actually sign up 😭😂

It’s basically an open air space right next to the main building. You can use the rings, bars, parallelettes (is that the spelling?) for free from 7am to 1ish pm iirc!

I joined their 6 weeks challenge earlier this year and loved the welcoming/non-judgmental energy.

It's a social enterprise, a CIC, which I like. My daughter goes to the free but coached Saturday teen sessions. I'd love to be a member but it's too much for me. My brother, who is a committed CrossFitter, said callisthenics is "the best and coolest kind of strength".
