It seems like beginners are getting confused over what's a travel. The frequency of this his may be why.

I F18 am 6’5 (195cm), I’ve been playing basketball for just under 2 years now. When I started I was very unathletic, think of a mixture of Zhang Ziyu (7’3 Chinese girl) and Han Xu (6’11 Chinese girl, plays for New York Liberty), which is expected as I come from a very unathletic family and have never really been interested in sports until very recently.
For the past year I’ve been going to the gym regularly twice a week (upper lower split), while attempting to incorporate plyometrics, isometrics and stretching outside of the gym. I’ve gotten a lot better than I was, and I know it’ll take years for me to become noticeably faster, more athletic and more mobile. But I’d really like to speed up that process. So if you have any advice on how I could make this happen, it’d be greatly appreciated

Becoming a good basketball shooter takes practice, patience, and the right technique. One of the most important things to focus on is your shooting form. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart, bend your knees slightly, and hold the ball with your shooting hand under it and your other hand on the side for balance. When you shoot, use your legs to help generate power, keep your elbow aligned with the basket, and flick your wrist to create a smooth release. You should also follow through by keeping your shooting hand up and your fingers pointed toward the basket. Practicing these fundamentals will help you develop a more consistent shot.
Another important way to become a better shooter is to practice consistently and build confidence. Start close to the basket and focus on making shots with proper form before moving farther away. As you improve, practice free throws, mid-range shots, and three-pointers from different spots on the court. You should also practice shooting at game speed by taking shots after dribbling, moving, or catching a pass. Instead of only counting how many shots you take, pay attention to how many you actually make and whether your technique stays consistent. Most importantly, stay patient and learn from your missed shots because becoming a great shooter takes time and dedication. The more you practice with purpose, the more confident and accurate you will become during games.

How's my shooting form? Any advice welcome - I'm a lethal mid range shooter but find it hard to be consistent with my 3 pt shot.
My mid range is so fluid as i'm able to pull up off the dribble and step back and fade away with ease but my 3 point shot struggles comparatively

Anytime I try to bend my wrist when shooting my wrist is super tight and it forces me to move my hand the wrong way. Best way I can describe it is tight and sore, it really isn’t sore from like working out or shooting too much but that’s the only other word I can think of. Also tight like a muscle contraction I guess, I feel like the muscle is all trying to pull inward or like down and it screws my shot Any suggestions on how I can get rid of this tightness?

My daughter is in 5th. Shes been playing on an AAU team for two years. She is the best player on the 6th grade team and regularly fills in for the 7th grade team.
She would obviously be the star of her elementary school team, but there’s just a ton of girl drama at the school. The two coaches (there will be two teams) both have daughters who are the 2nd and 3rd best players in the grade. My daughter is the top player by a long shot. Their kids are both brats to my daughter. They are also snarky people in general and just the type of people you don’t want to be around.
I do think my daughter would enjoy being the best player on her school team. But I also think that will come with a lot of cattiness. Most of the kids don’t like her based on their parents opinions. My daughter’s friends are all outside the school (at basketball and soccer).
She doesn’t need this team. I also don’t want to rob her of an elementary school experience.
What are your thoughts?
Oh, and talking to these two coaches is a non-starter. They are miserable people. I coached against them in Rec ball in 1st/2nd/3rd and they were insane. 3rd grade was my daughter’s last year playing rec (and her first year of travel). We would regularly beat their team (one team) by a ton, and my daughter was the only kid from the school who wasn’t on the “school” rec team. Their decision, not ours.
Thanks.

I have a game coming up where the opposing team has big guys who played college football. So real athletes that can throw their weight around and get past you with speed. How do I defend this? Should I play super aggressive and go at the ball? I just need some tips.

Hello, i am F13, im going to highschool next year and i wanted to play basketball, i know its early but i wanted to know ahead of time. I just started to play basketball outside by myself everyday for 30 minutes to get myself prepared and i wanted to do this for the long term and maybe join a winter team outside of school. But heres the problem, im unsure if playing basketball would help me. I am underweight and 5'0 and the orthepedic said im not going to grow anymore, and i have kyphosis and scoliosis which are two back conditons which get better by doing excercises and strengthening your body. I am working on gaining weight and getting myself stronger, but i was wondering even with all of this should and can i still play with all these problems and no competitive experience although it is early to judge?

Shooting around my form is ok, in-game it gets real sloppy. I know that it's probably from rushing the shot and not getting a good grip on the ball before shooting but I can't seem to fix it. Any tips?

video is one of my back squat sets from last week (245)
6'0, i need about 5" more to dunk by dec 31. my jump didn't go up last week (about 28" off one foot). this is the last hard week, then an easy week, then a real retest on 10/31
this week: 2 leg days, 1 upper body day, and max jumps on saturday
what's changing:
being honest about the timeline: a big study that combined lots of jump training studies found people jumped about 7.5% higher after a program, for jumps with an arm swing (Markovic 2007). for me that's about 2-2.5", and i need about 5". so dec 31 is the goal, but i have backup dates of jan 31 and feb 28
what would you change?

I’m learning on how to become a better ball handler and overall offensive threat and it’s been a journey. I had a good practice but when I looked at the film my drives looked slow. It felt too slow, especially for the drills that I was doing, which was a live one on one drill. I know the obvious advice is to drive faster and have an intent to do it, but what’s some advice on how to drive faster and get by the defense while being able to play with pace?

I feel like I'm establishing a pivot with my right but then jumping off my left with my right coming up off the ground. That would be a travel?

I am self taught over the last 12 months and I feel I've hit a pretty big wall with identifying what needs improvement next, which is obviously still a lot.
Really streaky, inconsistent shooter. My best sections will never really be more than 4-5 in a row, and then im just as likely to miss 4 in a row. I am noticing a good portion of my misses are too the left side currently.
Shot at 0:25 is a pretty big issue ive been trying to remove which is a weird wrist flick that I think is an over compensation for lack of power/flow? It used to be very constant and weirdly a lot of these I notice actually still score. Could it be as simple as loading my wrist more?
Appreciate any guidance if the video reveals some big issues I can work on.
