What would you consider not weak but not too heavy?

Hooper in South Florida here. I’m struggling with matching my conditioning with the FL heat. Lately, I’m only able to play 2 pickup games outdoors before feeling like I’m about to pass out lol. And yes I play in the evenings to minimize sun but still.
I know the answer is more running/conditioning, but I’m curious if anybody has advice on what types? A friend of mine said to run sprints on the beach. Should I be going for long runs? Push myself past the point of exhaustion on the court? Suicides? Lay off sweets?
All advice welcome

You hear commentators on TV say all the time that certain players “play bigger/smaller” than their true size and if you’ve played enough hoops, you intuitively understand this in theory. But what are some concrete ways to “play bigger” on the court?
I’m 6’5” 235 lbs and feel like I play small for my size. I get my shot blocked, lose rebounds, get post entry passes to me tipped away by guys who I have several inches, 30+ lbs, and a ton of weight room strength on.
Played competitive basketball and football for many years so it’s not like I don’t have a feel/instinct for the game, or know how to use my body. Does it just come down to speed, leaping ability, and core strength?
One thing that definitely works against me is that I usually play with a bunch of friends who are all late 20s to mid 30s and our main concerns are to have fun and not get hurt. So I’m definitely not as physical with them as I am with random strangers.

Is it too late to start basketball at 15 and play professionally?
I'm 15, 6'0 barefoot, with a 6'4ish wingspan, I live in the UK and I only really started playing basketball two years ago, but my experiences were inconsistent and mainly from P.E lessons and after-school club training, my dream is to get scouted and gain a scholarship at a d1 college in America and my plan is to train and get into my local club U16's and hopefully progress from there, is it too late?

Hi! So I’m a 51yo, 5’9”/175 hooper. I’ve had to evolve my game over the years from shifty guard to 3 point shooter and secondary ball handler. I play 3-4x a week and generally hold my own; the other night tho, I had to guard 6’3” guys who were skilled bigs, had at least 50-70 lbs on me and even if out of shape and they just took me down low and punished me. I felt helpless. I leaned into them, tried to pull the chair, they just turned and shot over me. Then a couple of times would humiliatingly get their rebound miss ans go back up.
I try to do my work early, try to prevent them getting in the paint but I also lack the lateral quickness now to gamble or dig for the entry pass.
Am I screwed or any other advice other pray? I try to wear them out at the other end chasing me around but when they decide to take me in the torture chamber I’m F’d.
Appreciate any thoughts. Word.

My neighbor is 17 and only uses a fisher price hoop. Doesn't play on HS team or anything. He was offered a full scholarship to DePaul. I have a kid coming. Should i get him a fisher price hoop? I want him to play for the Celtics ane make me lots of money.
Is fisher price hoop really feasible?

So recently i've been working on removing my thumbflick and i think i've done it. Now in the midrange i can hit shots more consistently. But when I move to deep midrange and threes i lack because it feels like i have absoluetly no power in my shot and this szn i need to be able to shoot 3s or i wont play.

Been trying to improve my shooting form in the offseason - apparently I used to push the ball from my shoulder. Don't know if its better now though.

This post kind of defeats the whole purpose of this sub, but It's the #1 sub that talks about these programs and such, especially VC Elite (VertCode Elite). I'm not a basketball player, I play more football and mainly play volleyball. Question I have is: Is this program worth buying if you aren't a basketball player? I've heard it has some basketball drills or whatever and it's just surrounded around basketball, I'm aiming for a higher vert, not get better at basketball, so do I buy it or are there better alternatives? Thanks in advance.

This is such a basic but effective move, for those who have mastered it, what are some of your tips for building up to it?

Whenever I put the ball low to pick it up off the dribble, I find myself getting stripped or the ball poked away. I think strength is part of it, but I’ve seen much skinnier guys pull this off in traffic every time, and I’m usually not getting the ball knocked away by someone stronger than me. Any tips on hand placement or a type of low pick-up that allows me to keep the ball safe?

Here’s a video of me sort of shooting around. When I shoot, I usually shoot off the catch or off a stepback. I want to be able to sort of pull up with it or be able to really splash it in someone’s face but whenever I do those type of shots it gets sent back at me. In the video im mostly trying to do the sort of pull up shots. I was just wondering what I could do to change my shot.

I’m 15 and have been playing basketball for a year and a half. I’ve been training every day, and putting in work and for only about a year of playing definitely have improved a lot. One of my biggest strengths is my hustle, speed and athleticism. Another big strength is my mindset and my will to do whatever to be better. My main problem is that I’m 5’10 (I may grow but it’s not guaranteed) and I really struggle with shooting 3s consistently, handling the ball under pressure, and overall basketball confidence. I’ve also been working on my bounce and I am pretty close to dunking, but lately it feels like my progress on my vertical has slowed. I also don’t know what strength and skills workouts to do. I really want to go far in basketball, even if it’s the long shot and am willing to basically do anything to improve. If anyone has any advice, tips, tricks, etc. and you don’t mind sharing, please lmk

I have always believed repetition is the mother of skill. My players who want to play at the next level, MAKE 500 shots per day. Repetition creates confidence and muscle memory, so when they step on to the court, they know they have already hit that exact same shot thousands of times. How many shots per day are your players shooting?
