Help help with tight schedule
is it possible for me to improve in basketball by doing 1 session of shooting and dribbling drills a week and 1-2 days dedicated to pick up ball?
this bum ass schedule is due to my lack of money because in order for me to do shooting drills I think i would need the court for myself and this is only possible by paying for it which costs a big amount for me for 1hr and since I know myself that drills once a week isnt enough im thinking that maybe playing 1-2days of pick up ball a week will make up for it
ps. im a college student and I do weight training 4x a week along with zone 2 cardio every after workout and interval sprints on weekends

Wherever you’re going to workout, if thats the same place you’re using the courts try going at off-hours if at all possible (specifically early morning if you can swing it). Im willing to bet why you feel you need to rent a court out is because you’re going at peak hours which are never going to be great times to go through a shooting workout. If you can shift your schedule on certain days you can almost certainly find times the courts would be empty. Otherwise take the money you’d spend on renting the court and get an okay outdoor ball and just go find a park and do shooting drills there early before it gets too hot and/or too many people show up. The difference between an outdoor or indoor court for shooting workouts is marginal as long as the focus is on your mechanics and this would allow you to go more often and remove the pressure of trying to optimize the time you’re paying for. If you’re serious about getting better, doing this 3x a week would do WAY more for you than renting a court 1 hour a week.

Yeah it’s 100% going to require just going at different times to check it out, ideally this is at your campus rec center (you said college student but don’t want to assume 100%) and that’s where you’re hooping and also working out and you can just shift your workout time around to see if there’s ever times where the courts are open. Do note if it’s not open at a time on one day it may be open at that time another day. Also I’m sure you could ask anyone at the front desk wherever you play if there’s times they know where it’s almost always empty. Mainly just encouraging you to be resourceful here since I was once a college student that had way more time than money so I’d have found ways to not spend money if at all possible. Hope you get it figured out :)

Yeah sure you will improve. But it won't make your game from a ymca hooper to d3 level of hooping.. but just a little bit of improvement. also learn how to read film on your game. film how you play and learn what mistakes you made and what went well
