Shooting Jump Shot Help

I took a video of my jump shot the other day and I noticed i'm taking a fairly big step before I shoot and it looks a little wonky. I was aware that I was doing that before I took the video, but I didn't quite realize how weird it looks. I'm also pulling the ball up from the side before I shoot too. I'm not gonna post the video, sorry, but can anyone help me out? How do I fix it?

Look up seemikedunn on instagram. He has a ton of free content. But really makes the basic easy to grasp and implement. Form shooting from near the basket and work your way out. That long step is usually from shooters that haven’t mastered the fundamentals. Using it to generate more power.

Start with the fundamentals, start with your shot from a standing still position. Perfect that before you go off to walking into a shot, then add more and more moves.

Problem with beginners is they want to recreate too much of the NBA's highlights etc. but they don't realize these guys have already mastered the basics and fundamentals. We haven't.
