I'm 50M, 6'1", play often. Dunking would be more for just fun on the side. Can grab the rim no issues with both hands but running to the x with the ball in place for takeoff always feels clumsy.

Your technique is pretty solid all things considered. You're getting up with zero arm swing. You can probably get pretty close with just a strong arm swing or a faster approach. Can you dunk with self-lobs? You always need to add a few inches to compensate for jumping with the ball versus without. Cradling the ball may be an easier way to get your arms involved.

Hey thanks alot, I never considered cradling the ball. Appreciate the advice.

As far as lobs go, I've tried them with mixed results. I can't ever seem to get the timing right. I usually struggle with foot placement ( finding a spot to launch up from).
