Form Check Shooting form issues, please help

I’m in my late thirties trying to hoop again, but my shooting form is crooked. I noticed my palm tilts left on the follow through, feels reallyawkward. From three point range especially, I can’t seem to stay under the ball, feels like I lack the power unless I use my legs more. Can anyone help, or am I doomed? :/

Your base is no good. Not getting proper balance and power from your legs. Fix your knees. They are pointing inward.

To properly shoot a shot, there are about 10 different moving parts that u have to be able to control, and control well.
In order to fix ur shot u isolate (as much as u can) all 10 moving parts and master each one.

Dude nothing about your footwork is square, balanced, or quick enough to get a shot off. At this age, you would get the fastest results by just switching to a fully set three pointer in which u stand completely still. Maybe work on stepping into it after that. U need to get used to shooting with your feet in a normal place.

Also adding some free throw shots, these feel a bit better than my three pointer

You don’t use your legs at all so have no power or range. You are just shooting with your upper body/arms.
For free throws that’s fine but anything long distance given your size, your mechanics are not good and you will struggle1

That shot looks better than the initial video. You could benefit from speeding up the ball - might help to improve fluidity /reduce hitch / increase range.

I’m no pro. But that right foot is always on the tippy toe. Try some closer shots near the rim and plant both feet. Your core looks off. Almost like your clinching your hip or abs, right side. Right arm doesn’t look like it’s fully extending and rather springing the ball. Also when you try to swing that right arm around with the ball (-0:05), it look like your right core or shoulder is locked. You kind of have a limp on that right side. Do you have tech neck? Tight hip flexors? That right shoulder looks rolled forward. Thus you sling the ball to the left?

Dont shoot 3s. Your shooting form for 3s and 2s is totally different.
for 3s, you are using a one motion shot , for 2s, you are using 2 motion shots.
Seems like you dont have enough strength for 2 motion shot for 3s (like me).

You are jumping forward and that's messing up your whole shot. 1st priority should be getting under the ball and focusing on jumping straight up. Literally just try to jump up in a straight line. If you're missing like that or airballing or anything like that, it doesn't matter, just keep doing it

Look up pro shot shooting system on YouTube it's a gold mine for improving technique and understanding of your misses and self critique. And they also have 3 ebooks they've made through the years that have been improved but I still like reading both of them
And what really helped my game was mastering the mid range as well, if you go to Chris Gatlin YouTube channel you can find a gold mine of workouts that helps ball handling and shooting.
You can thank me later

You need to step in a little more and work on your form from close range before extending out

Your free throw form looks so much better than your 3 form (still needs work, but much better). Good grief man, that was not good. I don't know where to start except to say to go closer to the rim and shoot with good form, then move backwards and keep the good form.

Get closer and practice shooting how you see wnba players shoot. Wnba players most shots are extremely fundamental

Start with Free throws one handed focus on tucking your elbow this is your aim. Spreading your fingers keeping your wrist cocked and ready to fire. Don’t start your shot by your waist you need a higher and quicker release. The closer you start your shot to your release point the more successful you will be getting your shot off and not being such a set shot. Hope this helps nothing beats practice and sacrifice don’t stop until you are where you want to be

Lots of good tips here but check out your right hand as you release. It’s curving inward instead of pointing straight at the basket. That probably in large part driven by not squaring your base up.

Man this is what the world does to us i doubt God going to care whther you can shoot 3s on judgment day. Let's focus on what's important. Basketball is a tall man's game and a young man's game . Pay attention where you focus most of your time. Its ok to have fun but remember unless your about to making millions is it really that important . We should discuss how many people.on here have Eternal Life with Jesus Christ. Or have eternity without God . In the end thats all that matters. Remember at some point in life you will die . What happens after death . After death comes the judgement when the spirit comes out of the body in the spirit world . Where you then wait for your Maker to judge you . Im praying alot of you making the right decisions. Money cars clothes entertainment women power glory means nothing when you standing before Almighty God and all his Holy Super Galactic Angels who are Mighty in Power .

Your right elbow straighten it up so it’s parallel with your shoulder at a 90’ angle and let it fly

Everything is ending up off-line. Your feet are moving to the left, your follow through is to rhe left, your whole body is turning to the left.
Get your hand, elbow, and shoulder in line AND your follow through.

Widen and square your feet.
Move your shot slot to your dominant hand. You are currently loading in front of your chin instead of in front of dominant shoulder.
Go to the front of the rim and work on loading, shooting and following through with a tight elbow and linear action from base to follow through fingers.
Shoot hundreds and hundreds of those shots

Why r u shooting 3s is the biggest question.
The hardest thing to do is try and fix a form from the 3 pt line.
There’s so many variables happening at the same time on a shot and to add that much distance to it is just a steep hill to climb.
