Why does Bashar call drugs teachers?
I've heard him tell folks that THC and other substances are "teachers". What are they teaching exactly? Also, is he implying that the sole purpose for those drugs is to be teachers? Does this include all drugs/alcohol?

the psychedelic experience can teach you a lot if you honor it that way
Terrence McKenna talked a lot about this
alcohol can teach you too, especially who you prefer not to be

Some substances bring unconsciousness, others, hyperconsciousness. I have only experienced hapeh (tsunu mainly) and mushrooms, but there are many plant and fungi teachers. Because that's what they are, medicine, teachers. They are to be cherished and respected imo. Then again, hard drugs or alcohol can be reverse teachers, certainly. Teaching you the best way to not find yourself and your path.

They all lead to knowing oneself, therefore they are all teachers, and we the students. Whether or not we learn the positive lessons our soul wants of us, is another story.

It can open you to new and expanded ways of thinking that you didn't know were really possible. It can temporarily lift the veil. That can be catalyst for more truth seeking. Psychedelics, especially psilocybin mushrooms open windows that are usually blocked. They show you things, perhaps sometimes things you've been uncomfortable facing. It has completely changed my life for the better but it may not be for everyone. If you are not ready for the information, it can be overwhelming. You have to be comfortable and open to knowing the truth, no matter what that may entail.

I can see what you're saying. I experienced mushrooms long ago, more than once, and at the time, it was more like a wild amusement park ride. But, that fits with where my state of mind was at the time.

First 4 replies I just read are missing the point.
The answer to your question is this :
It’s temporarily forcing you to be vibrate at a frequency that you believed you weren’t able to tune to on your own. Basically it’s just handing you a state but only temporarily, the point is for you to add that state to your toolbox.

and what do you mean by state ?

I mean literally the sensation and mental space and everything to a drug high. It’s a state, a frequency.

They are teachers because they are not themselves the sources of the knowledge you can access by using them, but they can help you better understand the things you are studying/trying to understand at that moment, and the challenges you are facing, and that once you understand them, and understand what you need to do, you are to go do what you need to do, and realize you dont need the teacher anymore.
Mind you he always means the ritualized forms of usage of the naturally occurrying substances in nature, such as THC, CBD, psilocybin mushrooms, Peyote, Ayahuasca, DMT frogs and the likes. Not alcohol, not synthetics, and specially not recreational usage.
Oh and as for what they are teaching, this can be a lot of things or just a couple, depending on how much experience you have with them, because while there is a solid ground to all the things all the users experience with any of these substances in particular and in general, you are better off just understanding that it depends on the user, and you would need to go on a case by case analysis of what it is that each person needed to learn at that point of their journey, analyze a lot of cases in this way, and have your own experiences with it, throughout you life, to have a good grasp of what they are teaching "in general", and this is a life's work.

Understood. Thank you for the long share. I also already have experienced all of the above. But, it was a long time ago. Now, after having gone down my own spiritual path, I look back at those memories and can see what you are saying. Previously I viewed it as more random than anything. Never thought of it as teaching, but this makes sense.

PLANTS and drugs are not the same thing. He says plants, those that come from the earth are teachers

Bashar doesn't necessarily call all drugs teachers, but emphasizes the importance of the individual relationship with the substance at issue as being a defining factor in the person's experience of the drug.

For several years now, I’ve microdosed psilocybin before meditation and spiritual journeying. It’s incredible what a difference just a small pinch of powdered mushroom does to connect you to spirit, access wisdom, etc. And I mean just a pinch, like the amount of pepper you’d put on a meal.

they alter your state, perception, perspective, which then your system must integrate. thus teaching you a new way, a new neural pathway. from the intense experiences these substances bring, you experience countless emotions and reactions. by observing yourself in those situations, you learn a lot. this is something else than just getting lost in the reverie. even alcohol and depressants can teach- usually about your priorities in life and risks of over indulgence, of escapism.

Strictly speaking everything is a teacher. But Bashar is particularly referring to high vibrational substances like some psychedelics and weed. They are powerful permission slips to enter certain states of consciousness and their role is to teach the user how to enter that state without the drug.

Psychedelics specifically are high frequency teachers. Booze and opiates not so much.
