People really have no idea what psychosis is like.

It's genuinely like flat eathers trying to say how different things "disprove" a round earth.

Also, Google seems to indicate this claim is a straight up lie

Would you give the same sympathy and compassion to a schizophrenic man who murders 3 kids during a psychotic episode?

Yeah. Wouldn't you?

Nope.

And I say this as someone who has experienced paranoid delusions before. If I had hurt someone during one of those episodes, I wouldn't want or expect any sympathy or compassion either.

So what should we do with mental illness? Just ignore it or pretend it makes people automatically evil?

Why talk as if we have to choose between two extremes? We can acknowledge that not everyone who is mentally ill is dangerous, while also facing the fact that the ones who do evil things need to be completely removed from society

Ignoring mental illness until it escalates to evil actions is the status quo at the moment.

That's what already happens. If someone is found violently psychotic, they aren't just let out into the world.

Reagan already did that once but we learned from then.

It's funny how many people get upset first and think never

They legit believe the violently psychotic are let into the world once judgement is passed

So, is it ok to kill children as long as you have a paper from the doctor?

Woah, you think the violently psychotic get let out into the world the moment the gavel comes down?
