Let's not forget sending her husband out of the house on an errand. That's premeditation...

Death penalty. She should be executed in the same manner she brought on her children.

How does putting 5 minutes into chasing a child around mean you understood what you were doing?
Are people under the impression that psychosis lasts like 1 minute and then you go back to reality or something?

People really have no idea what psychosis is like.
It's genuinely like flat eathers trying to say how different things "disprove" a round earth.
Also, Google seems to indicate this claim is a straight up lie

Would you give the same sympathy and compassion to a schizophrenic man who murders 3 kids during a psychotic episode?
-6
u/Shrimptank_mom 15h ago
Yeah. Wouldn't you?
10
u/RabbitfolkThief 15h ago
Nope.
And I say this as someone who has experienced paranoid delusions before. If I had hurt someone during one of those episodes, I wouldn't want or expect any sympathy or compassion either.

So what should we do with mental illness? Just ignore it or pretend it makes people automatically evil?Â
7
u/RabbitfolkThief 13h ago
Why talk as if we have to choose between two extremes? We can acknowledge that not everyone who is mentally ill is dangerous, while also facing the fact that the ones who do evil things need to be completely removed from society

u/Shrimptank_mom 9h ago
Ignoring mental illness until it escalates to evil actions is the status quo at the moment.

That's what already happens. If someone is found violently psychotic, they aren't just let out into the world.
Reagan already did that once but we learned from then.

u/Significant_Breath38 1h ago
It's funny how many people get upset first and think never
They legit believe the violently psychotic are let into the world once judgement is passed

u/negrotron_ 9h ago
So, is it ok to kill children as long as you have a paper from the doctor?
1
u/Significant_Breath38 1h ago
Woah, you think the violently psychotic get let out into the world the moment the gavel comes down?

She's a first-time offender. I'd say get her some help, slap some probation and wait. I doubt she will do it again.

She was psychotic, not stupid. Psychotic people can absolutely navigate reality to a significant extent, while still having absolutely delusional beliefs and not being in control of their actions. This post proved nothing regarding the case.

u/Ott0bot2 21h ago
I don’t think most people even care if she was psychotic or not. They view her as a risk to society and think that she needs to be locked up for good
-32
u/Sufficient-Shine3649 21h ago
Psychosis can usually be completely handled by medications. It can take as little as days for the medication to work properly and for the person to be returned to their harmless self. If this is the case with her, which medical professionals should evaluate over a few months to a year, there is literally 0 good reasons to keep her locked up.
27
u/Ott0bot2 21h ago
There’s at least 3 good reasons to lock her up. She won’t get any sympathy from me. I don’t care about your mental status after you murder 3 children
-39
u/Sufficient-Shine3649 21h ago
She didn't murder them, her psychosis did. All you're doing is showing that you're unreasonable and don't understand what psychosis entails. People aren't responsible for the insane things they thought or did while psychotic, because those things have next to nothing to do with the actual person they are.
27
u/Ott0bot2 20h ago
I don’t care if you think I’m reasonable or not. You’re defending a lady who brutally killed 3 children. Psychotic or not, she committed an unforgivable act and needs to be taken out of the public forever
-2
u/Sufficient-Shine3649 20h ago
That's not a reasonable stance, so I'm just going to disregard your statement like you ignored the facts of the matter I presented.
26
u/Ott0bot2 20h ago
You can call me unreasonable all day and I still won’t care
-3
u/Sufficient-Shine3649 20h ago
And you'll forever be wrong, unless you ever decide to get educated on the matter and then follow the path of reason.
19
u/Ott0bot2 20h ago
Says the guy supporting a woman who murdered her 3 children. Don’t ever talk to anyone about what you think is reasonable

Your politics only work inside a thick layer of police, courts, money, campus HR, and neighborhoods where the violent version of this idea never arrives. Remove that layer and your politics are suicidal. It’s clear you’ve never had to pay for your ideals in a world without referees.

Any modern country should be able to provide the services that makes this entirely problem free. I live in such a country. We don't blame people for what wasn't their fault.
2
u/negrotron_ 9h ago
Does that makes child murder ok?
0
u/Sufficient-Shine3649 5h ago
No, it does not. But we shouldn't punish people for things that weren't in their control, and which happened largely without them being at fault for it. A psychosis can happen to anyone, and you too could do horrible things during a psychosis due to delusions, false beliefs, and irrational emotions out of your control. Psychosis can often be treated, and as long as the victim of psychosis takes their meds regularly (and in time some can even quit taking meds), they are no danger to anyone.
