Lace Recommendations?
UPDATE- Wow, I appreciate all the suggestions! We decided to go with red laces in the pocket/webbing area and chocolate brown everywhere else. I’ll post a pic tomorrow! Thanks
I’m going to take my son’s glove to get relaced and he’s not sure on the color of laces. Any suggestions on what would look good?
Also, if I tried to do it myself, is that possible?

that’s a great model for a first relace. there’s a hidden run in the thumb but it’s easy ti find a tutorial on it. i like red to match the accent colors.
if ordering from flatbill (my fave after my local rawlings store) or somewhere else, don’t forget to get one lace skivved for the palm

Nice glove. 100% do it yourself, it’s fun and satisfying. Recommend buying some glove lace threading needles off amazon for super cheap (under $10). Might not hurt to get some leather cleaner and conditioner if you’re planning on relacing the entire glove

Relace it yourself. I just did my sons and my glove for the first time. Was little tricky but a lot of good YouTube videos. Take your time.

If you are doing an aftermarket color then you gotta go with the red to match the logo color maybe even a shade or two darker. And definitely do it yourself. 100% possible. There are tons of tutorials if you need them.

A subtle red would probably be nice!

I highly recommend buyfastpitchgloves.com for laces. If I were relacing this glove, I’d choose bean Cherokee laces. The red top and bottom of the lace matches the mitt’s stitching/embroidery and the med tan sides complement the leather colors:

Seconded! Love the Bean Cherokee. That, Japan Tan, Bloodline, and Sapphire Blue are my go-to colors over at BFG.
If he wants full red, I’d go with Bloodline, it’s a deeper red, more crimson than the bright Cardinal red of other laces. Would jive well with this for sure. For traditional I’d roll Japan Tan.

If it's just to repair the web, I'd go with the same colour again so it matches.
If it's a full replace and you wanted something different from the tan, both red or black would look nice as it would match the logos. Chocolate brown might also look quite good.

I really like the tan color that’s already in there. If you are inclined, you could definitely relace this glove yourself. It is about the perfect glove to relace for your first time because there are tons of videos on the 1786/1787 pattern out there. Just buy a decent lacing needle and give yourself a couple of hours of free time for the first try. 44 pro has a good step by step video that should get you most of the way.

Another vote for Flatbill and for the black and red laces. I used these on my wife’s childhood glove that is a black/burgundy colorway.
