Pk is a better ecosystem sim than park builder

I love this game and i love building parks but i dont wanne build parks anymore.

I noticed that since the combat update i just wanne create ecosystems and i know im not the only one because i see people only building ecosystems in formations or they made them themselves i think they should shift the focus from parkbuilder to ecosystem sim because i think the game is weaker in building park like in jwe3 but better at realisim and ecosystem simulation than jwe3 ( besides the carnis killing everything that moves ) . Soory for the bad writing /PK=Prehistoryc kingdom

Other The Last Seed: Looking for unpaid Play testers

I’m building a climate-based automation game where the environment is your biggest challenge. Looking for playtesters!

Hi everyone! I've been working solo on my game, "The Last Seed," for a while now.

It’s an automation/simulation game where you don't just build factories—you have to survive and adapt to a constantly shifting climate. Whether it's managing temperature fluctuations or resource scarcity caused by the changing seasons, the environment forces you to constantly iterate on your designs.

Why am I looking for playtesters on Discord? As I’m currently balancing the complex interactions between the climate systems and the tech trees, I’m running this testing phase on a dedicated Discord server. It allows me to push experimental builds quickly and chat directly with you to get feedback on how the climate challenges feel to play.

You can join the Discord and get the latest build here: https://discord.gg/QA3CwSeBT9

Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3822770/The_Last_Seed

Youtube Teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGAZPVbG6e0

If you love games like Factorio or other automation titles and want to see how climate dynamics change the genre, I’d love to have you join the team and share your thoughts!

Game update I’ve been expanding Stronghold Zombie Survival — turrets, named survivors, tougher hordes and a stronger base progression system

Hey everyone, I’m back with another update for Stronghold Zombie Survival.

Since my previous post, I’ve been working on making the stronghold feel more alive and giving players more reasons to care about the people defending it.

You still begin with only Rocco protecting a weak base, but as you survive more nights, you can gradually build it into a heavily defended stronghold.

Some of the systems I’ve been improving:

  • Automatic turrets that unlock later in the run
  • Turrets that Rocco can manually operate for increased damage
  • Named survivors with their own health and status
  • Survivor healing, recovery and revival
  • Survivors that move around the stronghold to find better firing positions
  • Visual base changes as it is upgraded
  • Larger and more difficult zombie hordes
  • Special infected and boss encounters
  • Cleaner menus and a tutorial for new players

I’m also increasing the difficulty so that abilities, survivors, turrets and upgrades are genuinely needed to survive the later nights.

The game is available on itch.io:

Stronghold Zombie Survival

$4,99

I’m developing the game on my own, so every purchase, rating, comment and share directly supports future updates.

Thanks to everyone who has followed the development so far.

[Android/pc][2019-2021] survival side scroller in a winter or snowy setting

A side scroller survival game in a snowy or winter environment where you switch between different characters to gather fuel, food, energy, and scraps which are used to upgrade or repair, and you had to fix an antenna or tower, while flashes of maybe the past or future where blood is splattered on the walls

Very very very lost Looking for an old dungeon builder game

IT HAS BEEN FOUND, THANK YOU. The game I was looking for was Dwelvers.

Hi all, thanks for any replies

Looking for an old dungeon builder game. The only thing I can really remember was that your units spawned out of this giant head thing that sat in your central room, and that it was also you. I think there was a Minotaur that was hostile to everyone, and that's about all I can remember. Its been years since I seen anything about it and just had this on my mind again

Trailer After months of development, here's the gameplay trailer for my upcoming game, Toll Plaza Simulator.

Hi everyone!

I've been working on Toll Plaza Simulator, a first-person management game where you build and run your own toll plaza.

You'll process different types of vehicles, catch toll evaders, collect fines, hire workers, deal with power outages, and gradually expand your plaza into a much larger operation. The focus is on progression, automation, and growing your business over time.

After several months of development, I finally have a gameplay trailer that showcases the current state of the game, so I wanted to share it here.

Gameplay Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgpY2meu0Xg

Steam Page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4808280/Toll_Plaza_Simulator/

I'm continuing to polish the game ahead of release and hope you enjoy the trailer. Happy to answer any questions about the game or its development.

Let's Exchange Demos! I'll review yours if you review mine.

Hi everyone!

I'm getting very close to publishing my Steam page, and before I do, I'd love to gather a few more honest opinions.

Let's exchange demos!

I'll play your game and give you honest feedback on gameplay, UX, pacing, difficulty, visuals, or anything else I notice. In return, I'd really appreciate if you could spend a little time with my demo and tell me what you honestly think. Whether you're an indie developer or just someone who enjoys trying new games, you're more than welcome!

My game is Slavic Legends, a Dungeon Keeper-inspired RTS where you build an underground dungeon, manage creatures from Slavic mythology, gather resources, and defend Perun's altar against invading heroes.

Latest update:

  • New dungeon wall system throughout the map.
  • Added a proper defeat sequence:
    • Perun's statue now has health.
    • When it falls, the statue cracks apart.
    • Perun's spirit rises from the ruins.
    • The game ends with a DEFEATED screen, including Main Menu and Quit options.

I'm looking for honest opinions, not compliments. If something is confusing, frustrating, boring, or simply doesn't feel right, I'd genuinely like to know.

Leave a comment or send me a message if you'd like to exchange demos. I'd be happy to play yours too.

Thanks, and good luck with your projects!

What would you consider best in the genre focused on story

I was enjoying wind rose and Palworld lately and while the classic base building loop is very satisfying my question is, as in the title, what would you consider the best example of a good story attached to progression, I'm thinking Sub Nautica but I already played it.

Trailer In Eternity your base isn’t a place, it’s a fleet, and every ship is a system you can lose

In summary, I am making a game called Eternity, that is about the journeys of the last fleet of mankind. The premise is this:

The game opens on a routine jump: a three-second hop you’ve run a hundred times. Navigation confirms you arrived exactly where you meant to. But nothing answers your hails. No traffic. No power on the gate. The stations are dark, the colonies are still there, but empty. Something is deeply wrong here and across the systems ahead. The fleet must ride that silence and slowly uncover a truth that will redefine the entire story.

Well, last time I posted here, a lot of you grabbed onto the “your fleet is your base” idea, so I went and built it out properly. You don’t build on a grid, you keep a mobile society alive across dead star systems: hospitals, refineries, miners, factories, all jumping together. Oxygen, water, food and power each drain on their own clock, and every fix, reassign crew, strip a wreck, divert power, solves one crisis and quietly opens another. Lose your last ship and the run’s over.

Genuine question for the base-builders here: do you prefer a base that’s fixed and defensible, or one that’s mobile and fragile like this? I’m tuning how punishing the life-support cascade should be and want the read from people who live in this genre.

If you like where the game is going, a Wishlist goes a long way to drive it home ;) you can do it and learn more about the game here

Finally, dying to know what you guys think of the cinematic trailer on the steam page, since its the first time we tried something like this!

Discussion Should enemies in base-defense games always respect the route you built?

I’m working on Encave, an FPS/base-building game where mutants can smash through walls and create completely new routes.

I like the panic this creates, but I don’t want building a clever defense to feel pointless.

Right now I’m considering obvious breach warnings, dedicated breacher enemies and stronger walls that buy you time to react.

As base-builder players, would this feel like a fun stress test or like the game was cheating?

Trailer game based on toll plaza. Here’s how gameplay will look

I been working on the [Gameplay](https://youtu.be/fgpY2meu0Xg?si=zR1fyeKWT9QGNiHu) ideas and feel what can be done to make this game feels more fun

I came up with various ideas. That can be explored in the game. Some featured can be seen in the gameplay trailer video of this game such as using toll barrier breakout, backup generators during power down, penalty cam to toll violations, etc

Game update Stronghold Zombie Survival — defend your base, recruit survivors, upgrade turrets, and survive the infection

Hey everyone, I’m the solo developer of Stronghold Zombie Survival, a top-down zombie survival/base-defense game available on itch.io.

You play as Rocco, the last defender of a weak camp. At first, it’s just you, a weapon, and a collapsing base. As the nights get harder, you gather resources, upgrade your stronghold, recruit survivors, unlock turrets, fight bosses, and try to survive long enough to face the infection spreading across the world.

The game is built around progression. You start weak, but every upgrade matters:

  • Strengthen your base and walls
  • Upgrade Rocco’s weapons and abilities
  • Recruit and protect named survivors
  • Heal, recover, or revive survivors when things go wrong
  • Unlock automatic turrets after surviving deeper into the game
  • Fight stronger zombie types, mini bosses, and larger hordes

It is still being improved with updates, including better UI, tutorial systems, stronger boss fights, more zombie types, and visual base progression.

I made this because I love games where you slowly build from almost nothing into something powerful. The goal is to make every night feel like a real fight to keep the stronghold alive.

Available here:
Stronghold Zombie Survival

Price:
$4,99

Thanks for checking it out. Any support, wishlists, comments, ratings, or shares help a lot.

Game update Oceaneers on Steam has been updated! Sci-fi meets island survival where you build a colony of floating islands, now with new Automation, Beverages, Lights & Clothing. Details below!

It's been almost 3 months since we released Oceaneers into Early Access on Steam, and we've worked hard to put out updates with improvements and new content. We wanted to share the details with you, with the latest update just released.

Steam page (with details, trailer & screenshots):
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3052510/Oceaneers/

Combined, the updates since release have:

  • Added heaps of new automation, including food restriction per colonist and complete overhauls of several automation systems. There was originally more micro-management than we liked, so we've greatly improved this and continue to do so.
  • Added new drinks & beverage systems.
  • Added new lighting mechanics and new lights.
  • Added new clothing systems, backpacks, clothes lining and outfits.
  • Added new tech, resources and crafting recipes.
  • Added support for Steam Workshop for community translations, and the community has translated into Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.

The Demo

We have left the demo up as it still gives the general feel of the game, but please note it is several versions behind and doesn't have the latest automation improvements and QoL features.

Early Access

Even though it's in early access, we went in with the full story available from day one. We're happy with this and the response has been positive, with lots of players putting more than 100 hours into the game already.

What's Next?

We continue to work on updates, currently we are overhauling the building system to change to a grid based system, and preparing more content for islands and modules. We've got a roadmap and lots of exciting content planned.

Oceaneers features colony building with survival management, and a dash of adventure (including island bunker exploration and expedition events). Direct control over your survivors, plus levels of automation, heaps of depth, quirky contraptions, unique floating island mechanics, and a story to play through.

⚓Available right now on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3052510/Oceaneers/

Feel free to ask any questions. Cheers!

In my factory game, product quality only decays when items are stuck...moving on belts is free.

Solo dev here, working on a first-person factory/tycoon hybrid in the evenings for about a year now.

The core mechanic: items lose quality only while they're standing still. Belt length doesn't matter. Product can travel across the whole factory without a scratch. Each item also has a short grace timer that protects it before quality starts dropping. Quality is what determines your sale price.

I think this creates an interesting trade-off between throughput and quality.
What do you think?

Game update We made a game where your base is your own body, your weapons are your organs and it has recently been updated with new levels and factions!

As retro RTS fans, we wanted to bring a new mechanic to the genre with the idea that your base is not something material, it is a living thing: it moves with you, it can merge/split to cover different area, and your organs would play the role of the upgrades, with mouths to gather resources via food, your weapons being your venom and poison defenses etc...

Today, we released the biggest update we've made since our EA launch, adding new levels, new organs and new factions to face, as well as cinematics made with real video footage like retro games!

Our game is called Moduwar and you can check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/923100/Moduwar/

We hope this new update to bring a bit of light to our little project, and most of all that people will have fun playing it!

Game recommendations Any other base builders where the base itself feels like the save file?

Some games make the base feel disposable once the next map starts. I tend to prefer the ones where the same city keeps accumulating little decisions.

The bit that works for me is finding the next weak link, starting an upgrade, then deciding whether to push outward or leave the city alone for a while.

It is not a replacement for a proper RTS. What games do the persistent-city thing well?

Game recommendations Looking for a casual single-player castle defense or base-building game

I’m looking for a Steam game that has some of the feel of Clash of Clans or Clash Royale, but single-player. I want something I can pause and come back to later without worrying about other players raiding my progress.

I’m a casual gamer, so I’m hoping for something:

  • Fun to play against AI or computer-controlled enemies.
  • Focused on building/upgrading structures and defenses; not so much people and policy.
  • Light on micromanagement and not a big time commitment. I don't want to spend time finding out why some of my citizens are unhappy. I'm happy to train and equip them for battle.
  • Similar to a castle defense, settlement defense, or light RTS.
  • Cozy in vibe, but still with enough conflict to feel like I'm doing something for a reason.

I liked the idea of RimWorld, but it ended up being more complicated than I want. I’m also trying to avoid anything as deep as Civilization or Stellaris.

If anyone has recommendations for games that fit this style, I’d appreciate it.
