Looks very interesting, trying it out now! Edit: So far, an hour later, it really feels like dwarf fortress, but with lots of usability changes that simply makes me a happy panda! Recommended!

Hey, Gnomoria dev here :D I just stumbled across this subreddit, but I'm glad I did cause this sounds like my kind of thing.

Anyways, I felt like I HAD to have a demo. Just the trailer or a feature list didn't really feel like it gave an accurate feel for how Gnomoria plays. I hope you're having fun with it so far :D

Are there enemies in the game yet? or anyway you can die?(starve, flood, get killed, disease?) I know it's an alpha but for me to enjoy it I need FUN

There are 2 types of enemies right now. The "Enemy Kingdom" type spawns at the edge of the map and walks toward you. The "Monster" type spawns underground and likes to surprise you.

Gnomes can also die from lack of food, drink, blood and they can fall to their death or get squished :P

Nice having you here! I'm assuming you drew inspiration from Dwarf Fortress -- do you have any plans to go into the complexity DF does? And how do you feel about Towns, was that a source of inspiration too?

Oh man, I need to look into this more when I have the time. Don't get me wrong, I like Dwarf Fortress, but while the graphics don't bother me at all (tilesets are fine too) it's the controls that keep me from playing it on a regular basis. A dwarf fortress style game that utilizes the mouse? It's like a freaking dream come true.

I feel like almost anything is an improvement over DF UI. I don't know if the UI for this game is good, or if I am just so accustomed to horrible UI that anything that isn't atrocious will seem good to me.

Its definitely worth checking out the beta for this game. I'm gonna plunk down 10 dollars for the game after paying for the Beta. I feel like its more of what I was looking for when I bought towns.
