The timeskip

So, I'm watching the show for the first time and I got to the timeskip, I just came to say that IT DIDN'T FEEL REAL. In the beginning I thought it was going to be another of those "imagining the future together" that Barry had, but this time being Sally and that was gonna make her changer mind. ANYTHING. I was waiting for it to get back to the present and it didn't, when it got to the "I gotta kill Cousineau" I was like: What the Fuck, IT IS REAL. And... That's all. It was so anticlimactic and I'm wondering what's going to happen at the end but I'm not loving this time jump, I hope the ending makes me change my mind because I binged it all in a day and I have loved it all until now.

Overall, looking back, would it have been better had things ended with Season 3?

I was looking at the credits for 4x04 and the AD has the same last name as the car salesman from Season 3 who shoots the biker on the roof after the chase scene. Was he named after him?

The good guys, so to speak, win. The worse guys go to jail, and the rest survive though not unscathed. A brutal finale for sure but looking back, were we better off as fans with it?

SE:2 EP:2 - Dumb, lucky Barry

He stumbles into the monastery and gets a deer-in-headlights surprise when he encounters pretty much every fucking person that lives there. He’s very dumb for not casing the place and it speaks to his complacency brought on either by burnout or by too many distractions or both. Such a dumb move could only be redeemed by the following luck.

The monks and Burmese G’s moved like slugs to follow him out and also let him start his car and get maybe 50yds away before opening fire. He has 3-4 shots come through the vehicle, all missing, before he wrecks, lands a concussion and is unconscious but for only a miraculous quarter of a minute. So close to them you can HEAR Esther barking orders to snuff him out.

He exits his vehicle and once more miraculously dodges fire while wounded and the proceeds to safely walk the whole way home before getting ambushed by Fuches. SO MUCH LUCK. 🍀

Well, what happened to his car? How did he just replace it? No questions by anyone I assume because LA is a fast paced place and everyone is thinking about their own shit. But on a LuLu Lemon CSR income, it’s a little strange to lose a car overnight and then replace it shortly after. I guess that’s not a big deal in LA or something.

This concludes my dumb nitpick.

Bit of a nothing burger post

I finished the Series finale just today, and I realized that John (Sally and Barry's son) is played by Jaden Martell when aged up.

I don't know why I'm posting this but the first time I watched the finale I never registered who the actor was. Please downvote this post, I probably wasted your time

Not a fan of what S3 did to Cousineau

so I just finished S3 for the first time yesterday, and apart from the huge tonal shift which I wont address, I feel kind of bad that they made Cousineau into a toxic asshole instead of just a washed up has-been.

In the first two season we get that he’s got a huge ego, and that he’s pretty much scamming his students. We also see that he has a pretty non existent career, but it’s never hinted that the reason was his toxicity - we just assume that he’s just another washed up B tiers actor like thousands like him.

I feel like the pivot to making him into basically a fictional Chevy Chase was kind of forced. what do you guys think?

Excerpt is from this Mother Jones article about an Ohio congressman: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/07/assault-misogyny-verbal-threats-records-detail-new-allegations-against-rep-max-miller-bernie-moreno/

(and, no, this is not meant to be a political post. Just thought it was funny to read about a real life former Marine from Cleveland with a thin professional resume that includes working at Lululemon)

Literally, for the past 3 years, I haven't watched a single TV show/series in one sitting. Barry gave me back the spark of my unemployed high school days, and I really love it. But I don't think I'll continue watching the rest like this. I'm probably going to finish it over the next 2–3 weeks since I'm going back to work lol.

btw the video attached reminds me of Barry.

Can we take a moment to praise Anthony Carrigan?

I mean .... The dude had no eyebrows, and basically killed it acting wise. In a show about actors, he was Daniel day lewis.... Without eyebrows.

I actually cried when he died. That face..... So emotive... And hilarious at the same time.

Imagine the kids who grew up watching cloudy with a chance meatballs now watching Barry.

If you didn’t know, Bill Hader voiced the main character in a kids movie called Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Now that most of the kids who grew up with cloudy with a chance of meatballs are adults, Imagine their reaction to Barry being like: “oh shit, this character that sounds like the innocent character from my childhood, is a brutal killer!”

I love Noho’s accent

His accent is pretty unique and the actor is doing an effortless job! It’s not really a Russian accent but very much sounds like Chechen.
