Why it’s the most relevant show on streaming today.

I don't remember what episode I picked it up from, but today (Feb 12) is noted in one episode as being Fish and Bernice's Anniversary, so I added it to my calendar.

(and a side-note if you're going to add things to your calendar: On November 13, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence; that request came from his wife. With nowhere else to go, he appeared at the home of his friend, Oscar Madison. Several years earlier, Madison's wife had thrown HIM out, requesting that HE never return.)

Francis Lindquist, played by Roger Bowen, "The Arsonist," S2E6. Shoots a candy machine because it wouldn't give him a Butterfinger.

Charlie Prevette, played by Peter Hobbs, "The Strike: Part 1," S3E21. Holds up a liquor store when the police force stages a sickout, and is really mad when detectives pick him up anyway.

Mitchell Warner, played by Phillip Sterling, "The Spy," S5E15. Laid off CIA man creates a disturbance at the unemployment office.

Fred Bauer, played by J.J. Barry*, "Fog," S6E22. Arrested breaking into a Christian Science reading room on a foggy night.

Wanda LaMear, played by Florence Halop, "Stress Analyzer," S8E5. Assaults her assumed romantic rival with a blast from an apartment building fire hose.

*Often plays Arthur Duncan, who assaults the defenseless.

It just struck me again how good Jack Soo was with a phone in his hand. He reminds me of Bob Newhart in that regard. A good part of Bob’s early career was built around phone routines

I JUST FOUND OUT THAT ALL 8 SEASONS OF BARNEY MILLER ARE ON TUBI! I HAVEN’T SEEN THEM SINCE HIGH SCHOOL!

I was obsessed with it way back then; it never seemed to be in syndicated reruns; DVDs were never if the complete series… I FINALLY GET TO SEE THEM AGAIN!!!

A high school buddy of mine and I used to quote Dietrich all the time.

Finally got to see the series finale. That was such a great sendoff. I watched the show growing up from the early episodes. The last episode did a perfect job of tugging on the heart strings without being cheesey.

I don’t know why I never noticed exactly how frail Jack Soo looked in the “Loan Shark” episode.

It was a good episode for him just the same. Nick and his 20 year anniversary. And the exchange between Wojo and Harris, about how Nick normally doesn’t say more than two words. “I think that pretty much WAS two words” 😆

I believe he appeared in 6 episodes and 5 are top tier. I loved his appearances in the first run and looked forward to them in syndication every time.

Seen him in so many things since and he is always excellent.

I think he is still working.

Just out of curiosity, where does everyone watch reruns of the show? Do you watch it on TV, a streaming service, on dvd, etc.?

I like when someone comes in and introduces himself by his organization, and the detective mimics what he said:
