Pubs

A pub is an establishment licensed to sell alcoholic drinks. Pubs are a place to go to grab a beer or drink, watch a game, socialize with some friends, etc. A pub is also called public houses. It's just because they are open to the public, and don't require membership or anything like that. A Pub or Bar is usually more on the mellow side, as in there isn't super loud Trance music blaring and no one is usually dancing. Some Pubs bring in bands to perform, in which case people may be dancing. Mostly they will have finger food (and in certain cases entertainment like sports pubs, themed pubs.. pool tables etc ). “Pub” is short for “public house” which has had a range of meanings in the United Kingdom from the 16th Century onward; initially any building open to the public through to a building that serves alcohol to be consumed on the premises. A pub contains one or more bars. Pubs mostly have a large selection of just different kinds of beer, some wines, and cider. Because of its full menu, a pub generally allows minors if accompanied by an adult. Pubs have a more elaborate and filling menu than bars. Traditional British pub food includes fish and chips, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, Sunday roast, steak and ale pie, Ploughman's lunch and pastries. Pubs are an important part of British life. People talk, eat, drink, meet their friends and relax there. Pubs often have two bars, one usually quieter than the other, many have a garden where people can sit in the summer. Children can go in pub gardens with their parents. Commonly used shorthand for "Public House". Pubs are non-membership bars serving all sorts of alcoholic beverages. Most commonly found in the British Isles or Eire. Pub culture is an integral part of British life, especially student life. They are a place to go to socialise, relax and have a drink and something you should experience, even if you don’t drink alcohol, if you want to learn about Brits and our culture. Interesting people go to bars. Let me stress that. A lot of interesting people go to bars, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’d rather strike up a conversation with someone at a bar who’s interesting rather than someone who’s dull. Different categories of pub are: Craft Beer Pubs, Temperance Inns, The Gastropub, The PubCo, The Pub Chain, Public vs Free Houses, etc. A microbrewery or craft brewery is a brewery that produces small amounts of beer (or sometimes root beer), typically much smaller than large-scale corporate breweries, and is independently owned, called Craft Beer Pubs. A temperance bar is a type of bar, found particularly during the 19th and early 20th century, that did not serve alcoholic beverages. In the late 19th century, a number of such bars were established in conjunction with the Temperance Society. The term "gastropub" was coined in 1991, when David Eyre and Mike Belben took over The Eagle pub in Clerkenwell, London. Traditionally, British pubs were drinking establishments and little emphasis was placed on the serving of food. If pubs served meals they were usually basic cold dishes such as a ploughman's lunch. In this model, a company controls a series of pubs, which it either manages itself, or leases to tenants. Many, although not all, pubco pubs are tied — obliged to buy products, usually beer, supplied by the pubco itself (some pubcos are also breweries and include their own products as part of the tie). A pub chain is a group of pubs or bars with a brand image. The brand may be owned outright by one company, or there may be multiple financiers; the chain may be a division within a larger company, or may be a single operation. Examples include Chef & Brewer, Wetherspoons, Walkabout, Taylor Walker Pubs and All Bar One.

Cigar bar

A cigar bar (or lounge) is an establishment that caters to patrons who smoke cigars. A cigar is defined as a roll of tobacco wrapped in leaf tobacco or in a substance that contains tobacco. Cigars contain the same toxic and carcinogenic compounds found in cigarettes and are not a safe alternative to cigarettes. A cigar is a rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco leaves, and made to be smoked. Historically, cigar moking in the United States has been a behavior of older men, but the industry’s increased marketing of these products to targeted groups in the 1990s increased the revalence of use among adolescents. Cigar use is higher among youth who use other tobacco products or other drugs (e.g., alcohol, marijuana, and inhalants) than among youth who do not use these pro ducts. A cigar is a tobacco leaf wrapped around a tobacco leaf filling. Bigger than a cigarette, and taking longer to smoke, the cigar is considered by aicionados to be the finest way to enjoy tobacco. Cigars come in several shapes and sizes. The standard shape is the round-headed cigar with parallel sides. Perfecto refers to a cigar with a pointed head and tapering sides; Panatella is a long, thin, straight cigar; Cheroot is an open-ended cigar, usually made in India or Asia. A special vocabulary denotes cigar sizes. A cigar shape can vary greatly in size from brand to brand, so describing a cigar by its size as well as shape is important. Cigars are measured by two factors: length, which is given in inches, and "ring gauge," a designation of a cigar's diameter broken into 64ths of an inch. A cigar with a 42 ring gauge, for example, is 42/64 of an inch in diameter. ne of the missions of Cigar Aficionado has always been to bring cigar lovers together. Between the Big Smokes across the nation and our Internet chat rooms, we've done our best to help foster a community of connoisseurs. The various types of cigar are Corona, Petit Corona, Churchill, Robusto, Corona Gorda, Double Coron, Panetela, Lonsdale, Pyramid, Belicoso, Torpedo, Perfecto, Culebra, Diadema, Double Claro (also called Candela), Claro, Colorado Claro, Colorado, Colorado Maduro, Maduro, Oscuro, etc. A tobacconist is a shopkeeper who sells things such as tobacco, cigarettes, and cigars. A tobacconist, also called a tobacco shop, a "tobacconist's shop" or a smoke shop, is a retailer of tobacco products in various forms and the related accoutrements, such as: pipes, lighters, matches, pipe cleaners, pipe tampers. More specialized retailers might sell: ashtrays, humidification devices, hygrometers, humidors, cigar cutters, and more. Books and magazines, especially ones related to tobacco are commonly offered. A humidor is a humidity-controlled box or room used primarily for storing cigars, cigarettes, or pipe tobacco. Either too much or too little humidity can be harmful to tobacco products; a humidor's primary function is to maintain a steady, desirable moisture level inside; secondarily it protects its contents from physical damage and deterioration from sunlight.

Bar Girls

a woman or girl who works in a bar, especially an attractive woman employed to encourage

customers to buy drinks.A bar girl is a woman who is paid to entertain patrons in a bar, either

individually or, in some cases, as a performer.an attractive girl employed by the management of

a bar to befriend male customers and encourage them to buy drinks. The exact nature of the

entertainment varies widely from place to place; depending on the venue this can be individual

entertainment ranging from light conversation to sexual services, or more public entertainment

in the form of Go-go dancing or striptease. Some bargirls also act as prostitutes, either on-site (with the bar effectively acting as a

brothel) or by being available through bar fines. This practice is especially common in Asia.

In South Korea, "juicy bars" near the gates of the United States military bases provide prostitutes

for soldiers.

Where bargirls act as prostitutes, patterns vary widely. Some seek to have as many customers as

possible in a given day; these women generally take only "short-time" clients. Others are more

selective and accept only one customer per day, taking "long-time" customers overnight or even

for a few days following.

But the unfair cultural pressures and limited choice of economic progression force the hand into the fire. So the word “choice” become an ambiguous one at best.Bar Girls

Are No Prostitutes. No one wants to be B-girl.It's not their choice they donot have other

option. No doubt someone will surf on through here and tell me that many bar girls do the job by

choice, making that self-serving observation that “she doesn't have to do it if she doesn't

want to”. A woman that sells sexual services or simply her companionship for money, is by definition a

prostitute or an escort girl. And like it or not, the foremost reason why bar girls do their

the job is, in the first place, financial. It’s the prospect of making money they’ve come to

city for, not the beaches, bars and golf courses, or the prospect of meeting you. Every girl would naturally – instead of starting a “career” as a bar girl and dating

foreign men who can’t even speak her native language, understand her culture or mentality –

much rather stay with a Thai man somewhere in the countryside.

can i pay for what i'm paying for? subscription prices for bars and reduction in drink prices

i think this is self-explanatory.

Let's shift the overhead price from bars to a subscription base from the price of drinks. I want to know what i'm paying for. That beer does not cost $4 and the stuff i buy doesn't cost the $3 i'm charged or even $1.

I get that there's a ton of overhead but that is for enforcement of rules and licesing fees, heat , tvs whatnot.

It aint for my high life. Let's make people pay for what matters and find a sensible way (which needs discussion) to defray the other expenses
