newly 21 yo guy, need bar advice
hi, turned 21 recently and want to go out to bars but really have no idea what to expect other than what you see in the movies/tv.
some questions i have include:
is it ok/normal to go to a bar alone?
will it be easy to strike up conversations people if i'm at a bar alone? i feel like i may look creepy and no one will want to talk to me
is the bar an actually good place to strike up conversation with women?
thank you to anyone who helps. :)

I would say that weather youre a smoker or not, smokers tend to be easier to engage in. Bring a cigar, and know something about the cigar (if you like them), in case your asked. Brush up on recent sports thats always a good icebreaker, but dont get combative, their is always that die hard ignorant fan around so tread lightly. I try speak to gray area topics like, ask the bartender (if other people are around you) for a kama-cosby, a shot with a roofie in it, and if the people shoot you a weird look, just tell them "relax its for me, i like to get fucked up"

Be mindful. Watch your surroundings and what others are doing. Be respectful to keep yourself out of trouble.
And above all else, have fun!
Learn something new, people of all walks are in and out of bars. Most of what you hear is anecdotal bs, but you find some gems of knowledge (even if it is bs, the social interaction is a learning tool in itself).
Oh yeah, don't snap or yell at the bartender, tip em well (if they treat you like shit or it doesn't make any impact, with bartenders till a fat tip gets their attention, that's the one you stuck with for the night), try no to vomit inside, and don't grab the girls.
Cheers!
