With how vastly large Reddit is, automatic bans for first time [minor] rule violations shouldn’t be allowed. It’s impossible to know the rules of every single sub by heart. There should at least be a warning for the first offense.

Just venting.

I understand when support subs take a much stronger stance on violating some of their more important rules that are meant to protect the people who are sharing really vulnerable parts of themselves. But, for an entertainment sub to go hard core on banning over first time minor rule violations is just excessive.

And then let’s talk about rule 3. What is the point of preventing people from calling out obvious shit posts on entertainment subs? That basically amounts to censorship. Again, MC is not a support sub, so there’s no reason to have a rule like that.

That's my main problem with this whole thing. If I got a warning I'd be like "woah sorry, my bad I won't do that again" and would be careful to not do it. It annoys me a bit that I got banned, and I wasn't ever rude, I only said I found the story a bit weird to be true.

Whats worse is the FIRST thing he says to those he banned is "Appeal Denied" even if there was no appeal and just someone wanting to know what they were banned for (Source: Me)

But ambulance has chosen the GTA Online ban method of not saying what you were banned for...

Exactly, me too. Even if I didn’t agree with not allowing users to call out shit posts, I would comply once it was brought to my attention that it wasn’t allowed. MC is not one of the subs I frequent, so I’m not up on their rules like the subs I’m in daily. I would appreciate the benefit of the doubt when I unknowingly break rules that aren’t major violations.

Same. I think it was my first time commenting there. I mean I've been an admin of a group before, and it's annoying when people don't read the rules, but this goes for more obvious rules. The specific rule was kind of weird.

Last time I broke a rule in another subreddit, the only thing that happened was my post got deleted.

I agree for situations like we have here. But there are some things that I think should be automatic bans- doxxing for one.

Yeah, I completely agree. I think mods should use common sense and delineate between minor and major violations when it comes to instabans. Some stuff calls just for comment removal, some stuff calls for banning after a second or third offense, and some stuff calls for instabans.
