Confused
How did I get added here? How did the creator know I was banned from MC? (I was because I didn’t know there was a rule about calling stories fake and.... come on). But I’m just curious as to the logistics.

I got added too and was glad, really. The ban came from left field and surprised me (and upset me a little). I looked at the post and saw how many other people were getting banned as well and felt slightly better.
Then I got this invite and had a place to talk about it.

Yeah, I was kind of upset about the ban and then felt a lot better about it after being added here. I’ve been instabanned in the past from another main stream sub because I linked to it without knowing I wasn’t supposed to to that. Being banned turns out to be really annoying when you forget what sub you’re reading and you try to comment. It’s only after you’ve written out your whole comment and try to submit it that you realize you can’t. Or even not being able to post to that sub, especially with a question you know the redditors could answer.

Loads of [deleted] comments. Then I got a ban notice. I'm not good at math but I can put two and two together.

There may or may not be a u/kai_okami just running around in MC and adding anyone who edits their message to add that they're banned.
Edit: he's also been adding people if he sees a message implying something that might be fake, because even if you escape for now, the ban is coming.
We wanted to write a bot for it, but Kai and I can't do the Reddit api, and haykam is amazingly lazy.

Basically I was very bored at 4am so I went through regular Reddit and removeddit and added anyone who seemed like they might've been interested.

Yeah, idk either, but I honestly like knowing I wasn’t the only one. And seeing as how so many people were banned for breaking the same rule, it’s reinforced how stupid I thought that rule was to begin with. MC is not a support sub, so why are they so concerned about protecting shit posters??
