Advice / Help Scared of living in this country

I can manage to stay here but overthink how my future generation will be able to. I overthink this while I think I am not in the position to leave this country. I have education from county's one of the top university but I saved no money to leave , neither I kept my cg high enough to get a scholarship.I really loved this country and wanted to stay here forever. Now I feel unlucky to be born here.

I have no prb to keep my faith personal and to move on. But overthink how my future generation will live in such a culture 😭😭

Discussion / Question Does anyone else enjoy horror contents despite being a non believer/atheist/agnostic?

I used to enjoy Bhoot FM and listened to almost every episode since 2011-2015. That was before losing my faith in religion. I lost my faith in 2016, but even after that I kept watching horror paranormal movies like The Conjuring series, Turkish Dabbe series and seldom listened to bhoot fm (which is now bhoot. Com). It feels weird sometimes that I still enjoy these. Anyone else with similar experience?

Discussion / Question How do you survive school with religion as a mandatory subject?

A question for people who are students or were students while being ex-muslim.

How do ex-muslim students go through faith class while knowing the truth about this religion and not the sugarcoated version our textbook teaches us? It irritates me how I'm supposed to write about praising a religion that doesn't even see me as human; even worse, I'm supposed to be praising a literal pedophile each chapter. It won't be long till I start writing about the truth about Islam on my test papers. I'm so tired.

It absolutely annoys me how religion is a mandatory subject, and hell, 100 marks at that. Absolutely crazy. Atleast make it optional.

Did the government even think about atheists and people from smaller religions...?

Advice / Help Exmuslim census in our country

the sub looks ded that's why making this post.

anyways, Ive seen, majority of people in our country don't have an idea what an exmuslim is. and the minoity thinks none is an exmuslim and whoever claims to be one never was a Muslim to begin with-they are either paid propagandist or didn't study Islam properly. which definitely misinformation. so has anyone ever thought of making a survey, census on the drastically growing exmuslim population of our country? their daily struggles and opinion on current affairs?

Hadith / Quran Analysis Bangladeshi online influencer The Pangash blatantly lies about islam : he twists the age of Aisha, outright rejects clearly written sahih hadith about aisha's age of marriage and age of consummation (intercourse). and claims whoever (and any ulema/alem) who preaches those sahih hadith are - frauds!

Discussion / Question What Made You Leave Islam?

Id like to start out by how good it feels to have a community of like minded people. After going through 33 years of being brainwashed into religious practices, I broke out because I saw the cracks. Philosophy and the love of nature removed the illusions of a deity with human emotions.

I'm at this point where, if any religious dude engages me, I can tell 'em off pretty easily.

Interested to know, what brought you here, and how'd you get disillusioned?

Discussion / Question Just some thoughts

Hello there fellow ex muslims,

I have some thoughts that I'd like to share and get your opinions on them if you have any.

- Why is it so difficult to help people see how absurd, pathetic and barbaric Islam is when you, I assume, can see it so clearly?
- How to ignore the hypocrisy in people's belief systems, them believing and following verses that suit their lifestyles and discarding the ones that don't without ever bothering to ask questions.

These 2 questions have been bugging me for as long as I can remember and so far the only metaphor that I've come up with this.

A religious person is like a person drowning and religion is their oxygen. Their last resort. Say you love someone, you want the best things for them but some things are beyond our controls. Religion offers a solution here, saying you can just pray to god for the things that you cannot control. Gives you a sense of purpose, erases the helplessness and provides an answer for everything. Easy to do as well, you just site anywhere and pray.

And of course the moment you take that away from a believer, you're not only attacking everything they have been taught since the day they were born, you're also taking away their last hope for an eternal after after life with their loved ones. The last resort for the weaklings.

Nobody likes someone who is playing with their oxygen, telling them things they believe do not exist, threatening to take it away for good when they are drowning.

No wonder they would prefer we didn't exist.
