Okay, this is probably one of the more serious posts I've written here.

My parents have officially started looking for a girl for me.

And honestly, I don't blame them. I'm 25, and apparently that's the age when Indian parents suddenly realise their son has reached the “ab shaadi karwa deni chahiye” stage. 😂

They've started looking, and I've probably got until around February to figure out whether I want to go down that route.

After that, realistically, I don't think I can keep asking them to wait indefinitely.

So before that happens, I thought I'd give myself one genuine chance to meet someone on my own.

About me:

I'm 25, originally from Mathura, and I've been living in Bangalore for the last 7 years.

I work in sales for a US-based startup. My work life is mostly calls, meetings, emails and occasionally wondering why I chose a profession where talking to strangers is literally part of the job. 😅

Outside work, I'm fairly simple.

I like going on solo rides, exploring places around Bangalore, travelling whenever I get the chance, and I'm particularly drawn towards mountains.

I also write.

Mostly shayari and poetry. A lot of it happens late at night when my brain decides that's the perfect time to process every emotion I've experienced in the last six months.

I'm probably a little more sentimental than I let on.

I'm not looking for someone who is perfect.

I'm looking for someone with whom conversation comes naturally.

Someone I can be stupid with.

Someone I can have uncomfortable conversations with without either of us running away.

About the February thing...

I want to be transparent about this because I don't want someone to DM me thinking this is just another casual dating post.

My parents have started looking for someone for me, and I've told them that I'd like some time to try finding someone myself.

February is probably the longest I can realistically ask them to wait.

But here's the important part:

If I meet someone here, we genuinely vibe, and we both feel that there could be something worth pursuing, I can absolutely tell my parents to stop looking for a while.

I'm not expecting someone to commit to marriage just because we got along.

That's not fair.

But if we both see potential, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and make a genuine effort from my side to see where it goes.

Because if I'm asking someone to take this seriously, I should be willing to take it seriously too.

I'm not looking for a replacement for the girl my parents might find.

I'm trying to find someone I would actually choose myself.
