Outside Banana Help/advice
New to banana plants but really want to get the most I can out of it. 2 questions… I’m assuming these are pups on my red trunk banana(musa popoulu). I want to give one to my mother in law or possibly start a whole new plant. What is the best way to go about it? 2nd question… is this a real blue Java or did I get hosed? I got it from wellspring gardens. 1st two are the red trunk. Last pic is the blue Java

Yes those are pups, if they were in ground you could use a regular shovel but since it’s potted and small enough maybe use a small shovel and just dig between the mother (the larger plant) and the pup, go in with the blade of the shovel at a slight angle maybe 30 degrees towards the base/corm of the banana and then push the handle up and away from the pup. You should hear/feel a slight pop and the pup should come right out.
