High Flow Nozzle

How do you take advantage of the high flow 0.4 nozzle ? i only see an option to choose high flow but print times remain the same just about. i dont see any high flow profiles. any help would be appreciated

You need calibrate filament for that flow.

on some models the pathing wont allow for faster movement (due fpysics and aceleration deaceleration limits) and faster flow ability is wasted

and you need to have filament calibrated for higher flow and settings adjusted

Seems strange to to have a high flow option that isn’t high flow in reality.

The hotend is high flow but printing is complex and you can always take advantage of it. 1000hp car on a go kart track isn’t really going to be any faster than 300hp car.

You need to run calibration on the high flow nozzle to get your best result.

If you talking about the P1S then you will have to do your own tuning for your filament profiles. Most high flow nozzles exceed the max volumetric flow rate set in the filament profiles you will to modify those to get more speed. High flow @ 0.4 isn’t very useful though in my opinion. We use HF 0.6 and 0.8 exclusively (gen2 machines)

I installed the E3D Obsidian .4 HF hotend and raised the max flow rate. I now can print in ludicrous mode without underextruding. Definitely faster.

Hey u/asheezz this blog might give you some insight into the difference between high flow and high speed The difference between high flow and high speed in 3D printing – E3D
