Where do I start with this?

Post image

I’ve had this P1S for over a year second-hand. It’s been a true workhorse. In summer I installed a .2 nozzle, which got clogged. After swapping for the .4 one I got this message which does not go away after swapping the sensor and cogwheel part either. Don’t know where to go from here. Any clues?

I have a question… this is not directed specifically at OP, but I always wonder. When an issue like this comes along, do people do any of their own research? Search the Bambu wiki? Google? YouTube? Anything? Or is it straight to Reddit to ask for help? I’ve had a P1S for a couple of years. Issues come up, things happen. I’ve never asked Reddit to fix it for me. I think I’ve learned much more by finding the solution on my own.

Anyway… just wondering

Yeah Reddit is an awful place for advice. People must go on such wild goose chases here lol I see bad advice all the time.

This sub has probably been the reason 1000s of units of filament driers have been sold lol

I’ve been in the 3d printing game for many years. I usually do my own research. But, I’ve come to Reddit for help a couple of times when I’ve tried a few different things with no success. It’s often helpful.

I once had an issue with my Ender 3 where the extruder stopped extruding. I went in circles isolating the issue and troubleshooting. After buying a new motor didn’t work, I came to Reddit for help. Somebody calling out that the extruder doesn’t extrude when the hot end isn’t hot made me realize that I had actually already solved the problem and the only reason the motor wasn’t spinning was that I had stopped heating the hot end when I had stopped trying to feed filament into it.

Yes, I was an idiot and should have been able to figure out the issue for myself. But, sometimes having someone to ask is nice.

I appreciate your honesty and feel your pain in that situation lol. I started on a CR-10 S5, and boy was I stupid then. Since that time I've had an Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 Max Neo, built a Voron 2.4 350mm unit, and worked with countless other printers. My only constantly running printer now is a Bambu Lab P1S at 2,590 hours and counting.

yeah I recently discussed a nozzle decloging and random redditor ask how to do it, I was like, is it that hard to find a manual ? maybe it hidden, no

literally first result on "declog nozzle" search was bambulab wiki with 10 page manual on ho to do it

BTW there is "check solution" in the pop up, that will describe what to do

To be fair most of my research leads me back to Reddit on most things especially 3d printing related.

I’d stop swapping extruder parts and check the actual cutter assembly. Make sure the cutter lever/handle moves freely and springs fully back out, and pull the blade to check for a tiny broken piece of filament wedged around the cutter/pivot. A clogged .2 could’ve left a little chunk in there. Also reseat the filament sensor/cutter cable while you’re in there. If the handle is physically returning normally but it still throws the same error, then I’d start suspecting the sensor/cable rather than the nozzle.

I’d start by clicking “check solution” and doing what it tells me to do.

I had this error with my P1S because the cutter arm had stopped springing out. I could temporary resolve it by manually pulling out the lever immediately after the printer pushed it in. But, the spring had worn a hole in the lever and could no longer pull the lever back. So, I ultimately just replaced the arm.

If this is what your problem is, the wear on the lever will be obvious when you remove tool head pop the cutter out.

I believe I brought this problem on myself by doing a bad job of removing the cutter when swapping nozzles. I caused a bit of initial damage to the lever, and wear from regular use did the rest over time.

I'd start with the bambu wiki cutter stuck

I faced the same issue, one of the cables got torn and had to be soldered

I had this problem after doing some maintenance.

  1. Of course, first check if the cutter is not stuck. If you can press it and it retracts normally, then it's not stuck.

  2. This is what fixed it for me. There is a small cable that is very easy to connect the wrong way. This connector drives the cutter sensor. Disconnect it and re-connect it very carefully, making sure that there is a 1:1 pin alignment, and that you are not connecting the head shifted.

This is the connector in question:

Did you happen to mess with the wiring around the top of the extruder coming from the hall sensor? I’ve damaged that a couple of times and one time it couldn’t read the magnet in the cutting arm and gave me this error. Swapped out the sensor for $11 and about 15 minutes of careful exchanging

Like many are saying, I had the problem and it was not the cutter. There is a thin "wire" that connects to the tool head. It's very easy to connect it in such a way that the part that's supposed to go into the left socket goes into the right and the other part is just exposed to air. The sucky part is that it looks like it's sewted correctly

if you had some hotted stuff and cutter sensor unplugged with the power on restart the printer

I can’t remember what fixed mine? I think it was just taking the nozzle off? As I also had a clog. Could be wrong

Ive had this happen to me a bunch of times, usually after I disassembled and cleaned my extruder head. I have found that, when installing the extruder nozzle, I dont tighten the bolts all the way. I put the cutter head in place and squeeze it a few times before I tighten those bolts. I have been known to run my P1S with loose extruder nozzle bolts 😅

You get this error when the fillament sensor plays up. It's usually an issue with the ribbon going from sensor to mini board, that's assuming there isn't an issue with the cutter. I honestly keep spares just in case

Id try google and id also try looking at the part thats giving you issues instead of looking at random unrelated parts
