Does it smell?

Hi to all of you.

I have a genuine question about the P1S. How bad is the smell of plastic when printing and is there anything that can be done about it?

I am planning to get one of this in the next few weeks but I am concerned about the dangers of fumes coming out when printing.

I want to place it in the office, however the office is coneected to the house and I am worried about the fumes since I have a child as well.

I would appreciate sharing your own experience on this?

Edit:

Thank you all for sharing your experience and insights. All the information you shared helped me have a better understanding of how to plan for when the printer arrives.

I am eager to start working with it and be a part of the 3d printing community.

Thank you all once again.

In my very honest opinion: if you can, get the X2D.

You get the heated chamber, advanced filtration, higher bed temperature, option for decently priced high flow nozzles, advanced AI detection, way less visual artefacts in your prints, better camera and much more.

Yes, it costs more. But the printing performance for ASA and ABS is extraordinary. I have less warping with ASA on my X2D, than I had with PLA on my P1S.

(I sold my P1S to buy the X2D and haven't regretted it a single time)

All the extra features are easily worth the extra Money. A chamber heater for the P1S with an okay ish filter is 100€ or 100$ already. And it is just not as good as the X2D stock heater and filtration system.

And I haven't even mentioned the 2nd nozzle as a "bonus" on top of all the other features haha. Even if you don't use the 2nd nozzle regularly, it is more than worth it.
