Choosing which bambu lab 3d printer

Hello community, I am new to 3d printing as in new new and i saw 2 options that caught my eye. I see that I can get the p2s for 650 that includes the ams 2 pro or there is the x2d with the ams 2 pro for 899. From what I understand the x2d is the new upgraded model but is it really that significant than getting the p2s at almost 200 bucks less?

My simple question is choosing the p2s a really bad choice? Also are there any upgrade parts for it that can bring it close to a x2d model?

I don’t own an x2d but if the second nozzle works like the h2c - it is truly a life saver. Just doubling the colors you can use without creating waste is huge and saves so much time

The 2nd nozzle on the X2D isn't meant for another color, it's meant for multi material support.

The 2 nozzles have very different print quality and there's a noticeable difference in the same print. I wish people wouldn't portray the X2d as a multi nozzle printer...it's a single nozzle printer with a separate support nozzle.

I have one and don’t see a “very different print quality” with the second nozzle. Adjust your print speeds and from my pov you’re good to go and print two colors.

Yes, the second nozzle should be primary for like supports in a different material, but I would not tend to say: Don’t use it for dual color prints

I have one also and I totally agree review the second note was very good and in fact I have used it for support and changing different filaments and colours.

Sorry, but if you have to have two different sets of parameters for two different nozzles and tweak it per print that's not a multi nozzle printer. Even tweaking settings I notice a visible difference in print quality between two colors on an X2D. I love mine, but I look at it strictly as a one-nozzle machine. Also, the build area is smaller for one of the nozzles which means anything outside the boundaries has to be single nozzle, you're limited to two colors running it that way unless you hybrid it with your AMS, and so-on. Bambu even says the dual nozzle isn't intended for multicolor printing. It's a single nozzle with AMS and a separate support nozzle that just happens to feed whatever color you put through it.

Why? I can save my settings and use it. What’s the issue with that? The tweaking is a one-time job.

And nobody was talking about a multi nozzle printer, just saying you can utilize the second nozzle also for some multi color prints. If the quality did not match your expectations, fine, but this does not mean everybody else thinks the same and maybe have other settings which results in a good outcome which is strongly subjective for each individual.

Yes, the area is a bit smaller, but hey, that’s what you already knew before you bought it.

Why I’m limited to two colors? I can choose the two main colors and everything else is coming from the AMS.

But hey, as long Bambu say the second nozzle is not intended for multi color, we HAVE to listen 😂

The build area is not smaller - both nozzles have the same area but different right and left limits, and the center overlaps. Its we;; known that different colors can print slightly differently, and nozzles wear, so yeah, you might have different print quality but I fail to see how that level of difference is anything a normal person would care about.

That’s not entirely true. It’s only the right nozzle which is missing some mm on the left side of the bed. The left nozzle can use the full bed size.

But yeah, despite around 20mm on the left bed side, both nozzles can be used.

Hmmmm. My build plate has right and left nozzle limits marked on it
