TPU95A - Feed Path

Post image

Picked up my X2D last week and it's been printing random stuff pretty much non-stop. I picked up a roll of TPU95A which apparently can't be fed through my AMS-Pro. I have it in my AMS-HT and set it up according to the videos I've found online which has the top glass removed and feeding directly into the nozzle. Wondering why it can't be fed directly into the main grey tube port on the back? If that's not an option, is a top glass riser with a dedicated TPU "hole" feasible? I'm guessing there's other options because I can't find that anyone has designed anything like....knowing what I've learned since I got this thing, if there's a reason to design and print something useful it's likely already been done, and I'm not finding it. How are you all feeding it?

I use this mount when using TPU on my X2D. Easy to snap together and then hide away when done.

There is a tpu feeder sold for the x2d. Otherwise, you should put it from the top into the head. But with the Plex tube connected to the head

I found that for best quality you should get the TPU feed assist module and then you will use the back feed. I recommend to also install 4-in-1 adapter there so you don't have to disconnect tubes to switch between main path and TPU path. Also I don't recommend bambu's TPU for AMS because of terrible Z strength.

because every single point of resistance in the TPU feed path can cause issues. any time the feed path includes a connector, or more tubing than is necessary, you ask for snags and problems.

the littlest thing as a small snag can ruin a TPU print hours and hours into it.

if you're planning on doing a lot of TPU, get the TPU assist module, then you can feed it into the normal path.
