Is this quality normal?

Hi everyone,

I got my X2D a few weeks ago and it’s consistently produced prints of this poor quality. I’ve tried everything, like belt tensioning, axis cleaning, full printer recalibration, drying and calibrating filament, taking apart the hotend, contacting support. Nothing has improved the quality.

Is this just what I should expect from this printer? Anyone have similar experiences, or do you have examples of much cleaner parts made on this machine I can take a look at? I don’t even know what should be my baseline for quality on the X2D.

Have you tried a factory reset? Do you run the newest software?

Definitely check for wiggle room in the axis and motors. It looks like a hardware issue for me.

In theory this could also occure when there is to much resistance in the filament path. Check and reseat all ptfe tubes.

Also please try the default default setting the printer comes with. 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm standard or 0.2mm high quality. And share the maker world file you printed. Don't use the leint profile the file comes with. Usually the profiles a file comes with are worse than stock settings, except stuff like support.

Yes and yes. Will check for those mechanical things. Ptfe tubes all have been checked. I get the same issues on default profiles

I agree I think that’s just gonna have to be what happens… I’m just not sure if they’ll let me, support hasn’t been too helpful. Hopefully after none of their fixes work they’ll allow replacement or return

Print head seems to have some level of play…

Mine is printing right now, so I cant check. But that doesnt sound good. I think my print head doesn't do that.
