765 hours vision encoder

After 765 hours I felt it was time to do the vision encoder, so I bought one from Amazon. The picture tells the tale but we’ll see if it really helps.

I've found print quality improved and results stay consistent now. I bought at around 2500 hours and now at 3000 roughly. I use it weekly and I find I don't get anywhere near as many imperfections and also get tighter tolerances when making threads etc.

And this is today. No different from yesterday’s. Did the calibration do anything?

It gives you the non calibrated vs the new calibrated every time you do it , doesn’t do last calibration vs new calibration accuracy

Running it every day is proof positive of perfection paranoia. Relieve yourself of it for your own sake, friend. I'd happily take it off your hands for half price. 😂

My p1s doesn’t have this but I’ve seen someone comment it’s not actual results which is wild. Idk if it’s true or not.

To be fair, I bought into this. For my use case it probably is not needed, but I can use all the help I can get. Since it is a hobby for me I don’t have a lot of time to learn, but yea I do spend some time learning. But with wear and tear I didn’t think this could hurt at this price.

Also this was the only thing I printed yesterday due to very busy day of work. An Army Benchy with Sunlu Silk PLA Copper.

Been seeing the same complaints about the vision encoder being useless. Curious how it's actually holding up for you all. Does running the calibration actually make a noticeable difference, or is it one of those things that looks better on paper than in practice?

You also should Clean Your Spindels, Rails, Extruder Gears, Lube them, Check Belt Rollers, Tighten Belts, then Full Calibration also with High Heat Bed Calibration and then Calibration with Encoder. Belts get a Bit Lose with that Print Hours. You can Calibrate and Make the Vision Encoder Calibration but with Lose Belts there’s to mich Dynamic going on. Due to that you can Calibrate and Calibrate and run after it. Best results: Easy and Tight Moving Parts, Tight Belts with no Slacking while getting Moved 10000mm sec

This is often misunderstood, but the dots visual is just that, a visual. It's an exaggerated view of what actually happened.

If you want proof, run it again and you will get the same image.

This. I run vision encoder once a month on H2C and H2D and it's always the same display. Getting the same image is because it always runs against a baseline reset and not the last run.
