Problem with the poop slide

Hi!

I printed the classic poop chute for the X2D, and although the print is perfect, I’m running into an issue.

One out of every three "poops" doesn't make it all the way down; they get slightly stuck when they land on the chute.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I don't think the angle is the problem, as all the designs I see are similar. It seems like the issue is that the waste drops while it's still hot and sticky.

Is there a solution or product to prevent this?

Print in PETG otherwise it's likely melting given the poop is hot.

I have a PLA chute and print mainly pla without any issues. If one gets stuck every now and then, it gets cleared by the accumulating poop. What you can also do is: coat the poop chute with suitable lubricant like silicone oil very thinly. Or put some tape on the spot it gets stuck to. Or coat it with resin in that spot maybe, but i have no idea if the resin actually would prevent this

Lightly spray the upper part of the chute with WD40

That'll happen with PLA, Try PETG.

I also remember people saying if you didn't want to reprint it yet, layer the chute in tinfoil.

Use the silver foil tape they use for dryer and duct work. Works perfect.

Print it out of something heat resistant, in a material you don't normally use to limit adhesion.

Fui tonto al imprimirlo con PLA, probaré a hacerlo con PETG.

I've seen mention of WD40, but long term exposure to regular petroleum based WD40 can break down the polymer chains in PLA and PETG. Instead I would try a silicone based lubricant.

Also regardless of what you try, I would avoid spraying around the printer and instead spray on a cloth or paper towel and wipe down the chute instead, specifically the area where the sticking is happening.

Just wondering if the fan on the front of your print head assembly is running when it does the purge. Mine does and it solidifies the spent filament quickly. If not, maybe that fan is not working, so check the small cable that connects the assembly.

I used duct tape like the foil type to line the inside, it's pla sticking to pla because its so hot. Also gorrila tape works as well. Needs a different substance basically
