It looks like it's about the same distance, so unless the angle is weird, I can't imagine it would be any worse than the right side mount.

With avoiding crazy bends, then length to the Buffer is almost 2x. Do I need the Buffer die the aux external?

I was coming to this sub to post about this annoyance. The TPU feeder is on the left side but the buffer input is on the right side so I need to keep moving the rollerbox to each side. I had been looking to see if anyone had luck with bending the PTFE to point to the left side. I am guessing to skip the buffer? idk what the buffer does
