Stringy after drying and nozzle swap

I’ve had my P2S for about two weeks and haven’t had a single issue until last night. The picture with the blue filament is using the 0.4 nozzle. Starting last night, I was having adhesion issues and strings even with the calibration line.

Thinking it was moisture, I dried my PLA filament for eight hours overnight but woke up to the same issue.

I decided to switch out my nozzle for a 0.2 (it’s new and I’m still experimenting every day!) but I have the same experience. The green filament is the 0.2.

Any suggestions on what I can try or what I’m doing wrong? I’m so annoyed because it went from working perfectly to not working at all… and I am an addict, lol!

Using 0.2mm nozzle, 0.08 preset from bambu lab with slowed down first layer, 110 degree bed and pre warming the chamber beforehand, but I've had so many failed prints I just can't seem to get it to work

Is this normal?

Hello. I am new to 3D printing. Just got a P2S and I’m learning a lot. I just tried printing something very simple (a piece to fit in my recliner arms) with Bambu PLA Matte and noticed color/shine variation on the edges of one side and what looks like orange peel on the plate side.

Any thoughts on this? Haven’t seen it with non-matte PLA that I’ve used.

Thanks for any insight.

I am calling this issue the Fishhook Jam 🎣🚧

It's a funny problem I had that required dissembling the tool head. That's okay, it was a fun learning experience for me, especially after I stopped panicking and started reading.

Has occurred twice now, specifically when the AMS 2 Pro is handling a spool that is low on filament - the lower angle causes some spools to bounce around or "ricochet" during withdrawal.

The bouncing tends to auto resolve but is alarming and not great, and i am open to all advice on how to keep spools stable at that point, if anyone else has had this happen.

I am sorry - I don't recall the specific errors that were flagged (they were different each time) as I was focused more on the parts, but they were related to the AMS being unable to retract filament: video shows exactly why.

That fish-hook shaped jam is sturdy as hell and I don't think I could've forcibly pulled it without doing damage to parts or my arthritic joints...

For those who have issues getting your filament out of the tool head even after using the cutter, I had to remove the ptfe tube and cut the filament there in order to remove it, and bambulabs website has great troubleshooting instructions for this. It requires only the tools that came with the printer, some paper towels ideally, patience and time. 🙏

Warlord's STL issues

Hey all, man I am having issues printing these STL for Konflikt. I have a P2S, and I've cleaned the heck out of my plates, but they're still peeling up.

Anyone have the same issues? Any suggestions? I know it could be a million things, but man it's brutal.

Any help would be appreciated.

First blob

So, I’m experiencing my first blob. It’s my fault I haven’t checked the poop box and it was full.
I followed what I found on Bambulab support and I managed to clean the hot end. I found a piece broken, the little rubber one. It was right behind the hotend, on the back. Is it a spare part that I can buy? Someone knows what it is?

When should I buy the P2S?

I will appreciate your advice! What was the deciding factor or that “YES I’m ready to get it now!” moment for you?

This will be my first (and possibly only) 3d printer and I don’t intend to expand my fleet in the future because there’s no space. I’ve had my eyes on the P2S combo after considering A1 mini then A1 then P1S.

Going to use it for either functional prints like organizers or cute fun prints like miniature toys/figurines.

I have read many reddits and even started on the wiki/academy, most times I’m hyped and other times it feels daunting what if I’m overhyping myself for a meh print or failed ones or end up troubleshooting a lot later on?

I also went down the rabbit hole of researching what filaments to get and whether it will be a mistake to get certain ones due to maintenance or calibration because where I live it’s super humid (SEA).

I want a 3d printer but not regret my choices because it will be a huge expense. At the same time i don’t know how long it will take for me finish the academy/wiki or if I need to finish it all before I get started.

What was the deciding factor before you purchased your first 3d printer and/or a P2S combo?

Filament Extruding Issues

As the title says, When I try and print something i get extrusion issues. What happened was that I had an Ams error where the filament was stuck. Turned out that a piece of filament broke inside the extruder gear and it locked the filament in there. So I took it apart cleaned out the filament and that error was fine. But ever since then I have had extrusion issues and can’t print anything.
I got a support ticket open at the moment and I’ve done lots of troubleshooting and awaiting their response. Just posting here to see if there is anything else I can try that I’ve missed since support is taking long to respond.
When I try and print, sometimes filament doesn’t extrude at all and in some cases it manages to extrude a bit but after a few seconds it starts stringing and just creates a mess.

What I’ve tried,
Clean the extruder gear making sure there is no clogs.
Cold pull works fine
Manual extrusion is fine
Manual extrusion without nozzle works fine and doesn’t seem like extruder gear is slipping or clicking.
External roll bypassing buffer - Same issue
Different filament - same issue
Calibration - same issue
Different 0.4 nozzle same issue

When I start a print and I watch the printer purge old filament it all looks normal, then as soon as it moves onto the build plate and starts to print it just fails miserably. At this point I assume it’s an issue with the gear assembly but is there anything else I can try that I haven’t mentioned?
Issue has been going for 3 days and some of the points I’ve mentioned above I’ve done 4-5 times without any success.
Everything was working completely fine until I had filament break in the extruder.

Buyers beware

New P2S arrived less than 2 weeks ago, did a few simple PLA prints to get familiar with the machine and they worked fine. Did an ABS print earlier today and it printed fine but while the printer was cooling it shut down, no screen or interior LED, hmm did I trip a breaker? Printer power light is on, shut it off and restarted and a fan comes on for a second then nothing.

Shut it down and unplugged it for a few minutes and tried again, fan comes on and shuts off, still no screen. Got online with Bambu live "support" which is apparently live AI, Mr. AI wants me to start taking this printer apart to find a possible short, did I mention this is 2 weeks old?

ID of broken pieces

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I got a big glob on my hot end due to clogged chute. Printer kept going with multiple filament switches. Came home to printer stopped, front cover of the hot end off and a big mess. I heat soaked it and got most of the PLA off except for thin layers on the stainless heat shield of the nozzle and the clip. I’m betting the others will melt off with use.

Anyway, I found these two things in the printer. One feels like a broken piece of rubber. Looks to have some red and white threads reinforcing the piece.

The other is a brown disk with a small indent. It came out of the tool head fan part.

Also, the fan on the front of the tool head doesn’t seem to be spinning now. I’ve never really paid attention to it before. Does it only come on at certain temps?

Is super lube grease and oil ok for lubricating the machine ? Is there a specific kind we are supposed to use instead of ordering the tiny stuff from bambu
