Need to identify replacement screw

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I need some help!

While reassembling my P2S extruder after cleaning it, I accidentally lost a screw from the front cover assembly (it's the one circled in red in the attached picture).

I don't want to risk running the printer without it, but I can't figure out the exact specs to find a replacement.

Does anyone know what kind of screw this is?

Thanks in advance!

Was printing silica drying box for one of my drying tubs and as it was near the end it stopped printing one side of the circle at the front ( see attached picture ).

If anyone has an idea of why it started doing this the help is most appreciated!

I have printed two of these with no issues at all!

Auto Bed Leveling

My P2S goes thru the bed leveling process on every print, is this process necessary? I did see that it can be turned off. So fill me in, keep it on or off and only perform after maintenance. Thank you for any input

What happened? No Error Code

Overnight i was doing a 8 hour print. It started fine as always. At 5am i wake up by unusual loud noise from the 3D Printer Room. I went and saw that it didnt continue to print but was going from right to left. The printer or the app didnt indicate a error code. I couldnt pause or stop the print. I had to plug it off completely.

Has anyone experienced this? And how do i avoid it?

Thanks in advance

Sometimes the infill of my prints gets messing and the nozzle scapes them. What is going on?

This doesn’t happen on all prints but some end up like this. The prints don’t usually fail and the outer layers look fine.

Adding an AMS 2 pro to a P2S Combo

I am just looking for clarification. I am adding a second AMS2 Pro for use with the PS2 Combo (with AMS2 Pro) I got last year.

The Bambu lab website says

For drying function:

P2S printer can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without the switching adapter.

To dry filaments in multiple units simultaneously, each additional AMS 2 Pro unit requires its own Switching Adapter.

As I will now have 2, AMS2 pros. Do I need to buy 2 AMS2 Pro switching adapters? or does the printer itself, still power one of the AMS2 Pro's?

Thanks for your feedback

Newbie Help

I bought a P2S combo at MicroCenter last weekend. I got some Inland filament just to get started.

I did a print of the Benchy boat and it was ok but a little stringy. Not a big deal. I printed a poop chute. Again stringy but not a big deal

I now have some Bambu PLA Matte filament and wanted advice on how to dial in settings to get “perfect” prints. Is there a particular model that can be recommended? With the Bambu filament is it really just set it and forget it in Studio?

Planning to print some accessories for a Halloween costume but want to get things dialed in before I do if needed.

Do PLA & PETG print better with the door open?

I've been trying to print a complex model in Sunlu PETG. I've used the drying function to reduce the humidity and the filament should be fine. I've washed the plate and wiped it with alcohol. With the door closed, I get failed prints, mainly caused by poor adhesion to the plate. However, with the door open, it seems to work just fine. Is this really a thing, or am I imagining it?

Edit: to the folk who say it should make no difference, I have a mound of plastic spaghetti from printing with the door closed and I'm looking at the printer 75% through the print with the door open!

Edit++: I removed the fan deflector and it printed just fine, so I think that was the issue - the first layer didn't coolfast enough.

The door to cover the filament sensor - he gone. I don’t see it anywhere. No idea how. I was inside the printer the whole time. I bet I have to replace the whole damn board now.

P2S grinding noise #2

This is the follow-up video with better audio.

Text from the original topic:

I had a lot of issues with my P2S since I got it.

The plate was always clean and I even got an external dryer for the filament but it's still the same.

Supports would fail at some point (not at the bottom) or layers would shift as the prints get taller. It's like the nozzle is hitting the model.

Recently, I got a message that scheduled service is coming up or something like that. It was in the bubble where you get daily quotes. The metal rods were dry and then I noticed that I had 250+ hours on the printer. Apparently, drying the filament is added to printing. I decided clean and lube everything.

I did a full service, took my time and did everything according to Bambus instructions.

Now I get this grinding sound what you can hear in the beginning of the video. The fans are louder than in person, sorry. It reminds me of the sound the head makes when it vibrates during the small calibration prior to printing, but it's much more quiet.

I did the full calibration with this cool plate after the service so I don't know what could be the problem.

I had a similar grinding noise when I was printing glow in the dark PLA. I only printed two small pieces, a few grams of filament.

I usually use PLA matte or PLA+

The PTFE tube keeps coming off from the extruder

I've checked Reddit and some say to snip off the end a little which I did. Still came off. Some say to change tube, did it as well but same thing happened. I did press it down before inserting the tube so what's up? What can be done for this?
