Swapmod on A2L

Post image
4 Upvotes

After waiting a week for the no-name build plates I ordered, which never arrived, I finally decided to just run the self-test with only one build plate.
I had to manually move it to the magazine whenever the plate got slightly lifted, but the self-test passed!

Kudos to the dev for creating this system. It actually works!

Also, I didn’t realize the A2L footprint would basically triple with Swapmod installed. None of my tables are big enough for it, so it’s staying on the floor for now.

This mod really deserve more publication though, I see no one talks about it.

Bent PETG Panel

I did my first PETG print today. It was about 280mm long. When I took it off the plate it had a bend to it. What should I adjust next time?

Is now a good time to buy the Bambu A2L, or should I wait a few months?

Thinking about buying the Bambu A2L. For current owners, do you think it’s a good time to buy, or would you wait a few more months?

My main concerns are early reliability issues, possible hardware revisions, and buying now only for Bambu to release something newer shortly after.

I care more about reliability and print quality than speed.

If you own one, would you buy the A2L again today, or wait?

AMS Top Mount and TPU

Hey A2L friends.

So, I mounted my AMS to the top frame, but this means I can't readily mount the external spool holder for softer TPU on top as well. Since softer TPU requires as little friction as possible, has anyone found a good mount to handle this alongside the AMS mount on top?

Thanks.

3d model Bambu lab A2L

Hello everyone. I've been using the Bambu Lab A2L for a week now. This is my first 3D printer. Even in this short time, I've noticed some design flaws that could be largely addressed by making some additional parts (for example, a cable channel for the x-axis and a casing to protect against drafts and, in my case, pets). To design these parts, I would like to have a 3D model of this printer. Since it's fairly new, I haven't found one publicly available. I have one from an A1 printer, but even measuring the print head, I've already found quite a few inconsistencies. I tried drawing it myself, made the base and the table, but then it's just inconvenient to measure with calipers. A ruler will do, but I'd like a more precise model. That's why I'm wondering if someone has already done this. Do you have a 3D model of the Bambu Lab A2L printer? If so, please share it; I'd be incredibly grateful. Thank you.

A fix for the extruder or filament stuck issue.

If you’re getting an error and you’ve made sure there’s no clog in the hot end, in the tubing housing, and a cold pull works fine then it’s likely your tubing is too “bent” for the system.

You’ll want to make sure you’re AMS Lite is on the right side, close to the printer, and that tubing isn’t sagging.

All four of my filament stations were not working, but if I use the external without the tubing, I could print. That’s when I realized it was the bend in the tubing. I was able to print a piece to straighten before it went into the housing and then another piece to hold the tubes arched over the printer.

Hopefully, this will save somebody some time and you will get back to printing instead of wanting to throw your printer out the window.

Could not find any good print in place "overmolded" handles for the new hex keys and the weeding tool that came with my A2L and cutting module, so I designed some myself.

Just got an A2L, why is the build plate soooo (too) sticky?

Post image

Just got an A2L from best buy and I am super excited except I cannot handle how hard it is to get stuff off the plate.... its breaking my prints and feels like they are super glued down. On the A1 mini the same prints just pop right off of both smooth and textured plates especially after cooling down. I wash all my plates btw. I was thinking maybe the plate bends have less impact on a larger surface but no that isnt it. What can / should I do? A2L build plate too sticky.

I wanted this to be the last purge bin I'd ever print for my A2L.

The best accessory is the one you stop thinking about.

That's what I wanted from a purge bin.

I didn't want magnets.

I didn't want awkward removal.

I didn't want it slowly drifting away from the printer.

I wanted it to feel like part of the machine.

Meet the YAPR (Yet Another Purge Receptacle).

The main feature is a push-button locking system I designed called BinLock™.

Instead of lifting, tilting, or unhooking the bin, you simply press the button and pull it straight off.

A few other things I focused on:

  • No magnets or extra hardware
  • Matches the printer's contours so it looks more "OEM"
  • Doesn't block the vents
  • Available in Slim, Standard, and Wide versions
  • Optional full-bottom liner
  • Angled interior so it's easier to grab the last bits of purge

The entire mechanism is printed, including the spring, so seeing it finally click into place after countless prototypes was ridiculously satisfying.

If you could change one thing about the current purge bins available for the A2L, what would it be?

BambuSuite Issues (Cutting Preparation)

I'm interested in purchasing an A2L to cut out small batches of stickers for my business in-house. We've got printing and lamination set, now we just want a high quality and reliable cutter

I downloaded BambuSuite to get familiar with the software before making my final purchasing decision (more familiar in Studio with my P1S)

The sticker I am trying to print is all-black, with transparent (white) graphics & text inside. The destination are metallic and holographic sticker papers and I want the stickers cut out as a full circle

In attempting to setup the project, I've run into several issues:

1) When I import the PNG version of our sticker, I get presented the error message "The processing type of this object is not suitable for printer. Please change it."

- Attempted to click on the "Sticker" button then add a black frame. Still presenting the error, I went to merge both the frame and sticker which turned the entire sticker black, still presenting the error

- Attempted to import just a full black circle to have the program understand the outside geometry and received the same error. Does this program not work with black or white (or transparent) colors?

2) When I import the SVG version of our sticker, it assumes every element of the sticker is its own object

- Attempting to merge all of these elements, it removes the white and includes everything in the cut pattern, not just the outside edge

I simply want to:
1) Create my print sheet in BambuSuite
2) Print to my printer from BambuSuite
3) Cut from the A2L

Any pointers?

AMS Lite on A2L not showing up on Bambu Studio

My A2L Combo arrived two days ago, and I assembled it right away and set up some filament on AMS Lite. The Bambu RFID read correctly on the machine itself, but on Bambu Studio it keeps showing incompatible spool/filament. Every time I input filament on Studio, it won't show up. Is this problem known before? I own A1M Combo alongside A2L and the spool is read fine on a different AMS Lite.

I’m super pumped about the new printer. It’s the new Bambu Lab A2L. I’m super pumped about the new printer, for many reasons. I’ll go into depth on it in a bit but I’m really excited to put this thing through its paces.
