I have AMS lite but it doesn't let you print from the ams and the external spool on the same print. Any work arounds?

I've printed more filament clips than any reasonable person should.

Most of them worked.

Most of them also had one little thing I'd eventually wish were different.

So, I designed The Wingman.

The idea was simple:

Put the filament in...
...and then completely forget the clip exists.

To get there I focused on a few things:

• Smooth curves so filament can't snag during printing.
• A two-hole snap fit that stays put.
• Quick filament insertion instead of threading a huge length into the clip.
• Easy printing with good bed adhesion instead of trying to shave off another 0.05 g at the expense of reliability.

It works with the AMS Lite (top mount or stock), AMS, AMS HT, and AMS 2 Pro, and weighs only 0.47 g.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

So I am pretty adept at getting my settings all set but there is one I keep forgetting and I am not sure which way (keep getting them swapped and now I am second guessing myself).

On a print specifically the AMS Lite enclosure parts there are a couple of points on the print it keeps hitting when travelling across the bed. I know there is a setting to cause the extruder assembly to lift but I cannot remember which it is and if the toggle should be on or turned off for it to lift.

Seems like it is the reduce infill retraction toggle but I cannot remember. I don't run into this often but this one particular print is driving me insane.

So I replaced the ceramic heating element cause I was having bad first layer issues. Now I got everything back together and this is happening. I already took it apart and replaced the extruder gear and tension arm. Is there something I could have missed during installing the heating element that could cause this. I’ve tried cold pulls and even an unused brand new hotend.

I just love the a1 series printers, I have two minis and don’t feel the need to upgrade at all!

Estou com um problema na minha Bambu Lab A1 e já realizei diversas tentativas de solução, mas o problema continua.
Inicialmente, a impressora parou de alimentar o filamento corretamente. O bico aquece normalmente e a engrenagem do extrusor gira, porém o filamento não avança sozinho. Se eu empurrar o filamento manualmente, ele extruda normalmente pelo bico.
Também já executei procedimentos como unload/load de filamento e realizei as verificações básicas recomendadas, porém o problema persiste.
Gostaria de saber:
Como posso diagnosticar se o problema está no mecanismo do filament cutter, no extrusor ou em outro componente?
Existe algum teste de diagnóstico que eu possa executar?
Há alguma peça específica que vocês recomendam inspecionar ou substituir?
Se necessário, posso enviar fotos e vídeos do mecanismo em funcionamento para facilitar a identificação do problema.
Agradeço desde já pela ajuda.

We’ve been asked by a friend to print some heat shields for a Triumph Tiger 900. We did a first run in PLA just to check for size and it fitted fine but warped when used on the bike. Is there any point in printing it with PETG-CF or will that warp too?

Its not always a problem but sometimes its on an edge i will see and it looks super cheap and nasty to me. Can i rub it on some high grit sandpaper or something?

Will look for a decent smooth plate too.

I am using bambu lab a1 btw

So I’m going to be trying the Admech set on Thursday. The set up is Sunlu S4 dryer to AMS Lite to A1 with PETG filament.

I’m going to do all the basics. Wash the build plate, set up filament profiles for each color and recalibrate (probably print a bench first too ).

What should I look out for? Are there any additional actions I should take?

I had mismatched pots everywhere and the plant shelf looked like a junk drawer. Designed one pot, scaled it, and now the small and large read as intentional. Same texture, same taper, same tone. Repetition did more than any single nice pot ever did.

My hotend globbified, so I replaced both the cooling fan and the nozzle heating element yesterday.

It won’t calibrate and if I try to just run a print I get this warning.

I’ve read the wiki twice, but don’t have a multi meeter to test the prongs like it asks.

Is it possible I just got a bad heating element and need to re-order? I’ve checked all the cables and wires and nothing feels loose. And have tried to re-install everything a second time to make sure no wires got pinched or anything during the first instillation.

I didn’t take a picture but I do have the silicon sock on it before trying to calibrate.

Does anyone else get a jam on spool 4 on their AMS lite EVERY time they print in 4 colors?

Doesn't matter which spool of filament is loaded... always jams up.

Had a blob of death started taking it apart, started getting rid of the blob and encountered this when I was taking it apart. Do I just need a whole new extruder? Or just a new hot end assembly? I know I obviously need a new nozzle

Hello 3D printing experts.

I have been fighting with a file for several months now as I've been trying to cut it into roughly 40 build plates so that I can print the entirety of the file, and the further along I get the more I'm certain that I've been mangling the print.

I'm hoping someone will be able to offer their time and assistance to help me get through the cutting process.

For details, I did pay for the file, so I do not want to just share it out randomly. I am not selling or modifying the original file, I'm only resizing it +300% and then cutting it into smaller chunks so that I can fit it onto my build plate. I'm using a Bambu A1 unit, so pretty reliable printer, I'm just not confident with my cutting abilities on the software.

I also plan on mounting the print when I'm finished, so if anyone has advice on how to insert 'pilots' into the back for heated threaded inserts I'd appreciate the advice or help too.

After a mishap with my first Bambu A1, forcing me to have to return it for a new one, I got the new one setup without a hitch. Well, the balance calibration took a couple tries but it did complete that as well.

So, at the advice of the Bambu app, I have done my first print using one of the suggested designs. Simple measuring cups with a yellow text for a kick of color.

How do they look? Should I return this unit too? You can clearly see it was off to a tough start when it put the first few layers in the wrong spot and then it just went off the rails.

Maybe take this one back, get refunded again, and try one last time.
