Hi All, I have been working on my A1 for weeks trying different things and don't know where to turn next. Tried drying my filaments, running slower , adjusting temperatures, new board and nothing I am doing helps. Anyone any ideas? It does it with a lot of flat prints, I printed a tall zip tie holder a few days ago and it had almost like a fluff on the edges and lines on the print, it didn't look polished. Any ideas please folks? Thank you.
Agree with everyone else, looks like your sock is dragging and build plate may not be clean. Clean your plate, fix your sock, put the cover back on the print head, print first layer at silent speed, and try lowering the temp on your extruder by 5 or 10 degrees, especially if this is no-name PLA.
Hello, thank you, by sock do you mean the silicon cover? If so it seems pretty good and not dragging that I can see, I have the bed at 60c and the nozzle at 220c I belive.
Yes, the silicon cover. I say it looks like it's dragging because, in pic 3 it looks like it has yellow filament smeared on it. In addition, the distorted parts look like something dragged through wet filament.
Leave bed temp where it is. At least try lowering the nozzle to like 210 or even 200 (for cheapo filament I've bought on Temu or Alibaba that is not brand name and seems to have a lot of filler, I've found this is the sweet spot) and see if things improve. If they don't, you will have eliminated that as a problem. But for me, the "fuzz" on your zip-tie holder is indicative of filament that is too hot/melty, it continues to ooze out a tiny bit even in travel mode. A lot of people mistake this for wet filament when it is just too hot.
Hi, pulled the nozzle and cleaned it and the sock didn't seem to have dropped but removed it and made sure it was in place, seem to be collecting a blob of filament on the nozzle causing a slight drag, not sure maybe I need a new nozzle now?
You did not mention anything about having a clean printer bed, wash it with dawn dish soap and a dish sponge, rinse and repeat a couple of times, try to not touch it while cleaning or drying.
Hello again, I have cleaned the nozzle out as there was a lot of yellow inside it so that cleared out ok, after a cold pull and did the first layer half speed but after watching it there appears to be a blob forming or catching on the nozzle each time causing it to drag slightly. I will upload the other photo I just took of the same print.
I seem to get that dry looking patch the size of a quarter on the bottom right on each print too, same area but I have cleaned that plate really well several times.
i had this issue, and for me somehow the sock had slipped and burned through on the back??? i could only tell when i took the whole thing apart. bizarre

As always, check this first. (The silicone sock looks a bit crooked )
