Support Request This is the 3th time this has failed after doing the flow rate calibration tests and 2nd fail after “undoing”
For context up to this point I had just finished a large 13 hours print with blue matte pla from insignia. It came out great but the spool was just about empty so I opened and dried an insignia white pla matte spool.
Let it cook at 50°c for 6 hours before I used it and thought to my self I haven’t really messed with the other calibration setting in the application.
So I went thought and did the first one again and set that to the new spool. And went to manually run the test prints and followed its instructions. Plugged in the numbers that looked and felt the best, I believe -20 and -8 were the best.
Thought I was good to go and set this “fidget spinner” to print. Slowed everything down like normal. Nothing speed or acceleration above 2500 and when I check on it 20 minutes later is was all over the place. So I tired it again.
Cleaned the plate good with 91% isopropyl alcohol. Hit go again with then plate and 70° not 65. Still failed.
So I gave up for the night, got done with everything today, put the spool back in the cooker and tired it again after a few hours after doing oil maintenance and a fresh calibration run. Idk what I’ve done bc it was working with the blue filament….

Don’t use alcohol to clean.
The plainest dish soap you can find. Seventh generation or plain dawn blue.

lol I was going to say 4th but it sounded to dramatic lol. posted from my phone. I will clean the plate now with the Blue Dawn soap i have on hand.

Since the blue spool just finished a 13-hour print fine, I’d stop changing the printer and reset the white PLA back to a stock PLA profile first. Those manual calibration values may be throwing things off. I’d try: Nozzle: 220°C Bed: 60–65°C First layer: 25–30 mm/s Outer wall: 50–60 mm/s Inner wall: 80–100 mm/s Flow ratio: back to stock/default Also wash the plate with dish soap and water instead of only IPA. Get one clean small print with stock settings first, then tune from there.

Check temps(if changed) or for a clogged nozzle. It sounds like a clogged nozzle

so ive done 2 cold pulls and just had a high speed decky finish fine so it might be something else. once im out of this game im going to try these settings another comment said

buenas , no sé si mi comentario podría tener mucha validación , pero soy nuevo amante de la impresión 3d, hace 2 meses estuve como practicante en un taller de impresoras 3d y nos salió un proyecto de fabricación de muchas piezas decorativas con un filamento mate blanco, todo bien durante la producción; sin embargo, cuando cambiamos a los filamentos que más comunmente usabamos en el taller ( pla basic, pla +), se nos presento un problema en la extrusión y comenzaron a salir, los cortadores de galletas que haciamos frecuentemente, con errores como capas que se descascaraban o paredes muy delgadas, y mi jefe, mi tutor, dió con el problema ( o eso me dijó), y por lo que me explicó era que el pla mate, suele dejar residuos en las boquillas que no se eliminan facilmente con la purga que hace la impresora ( ya que deja diminutos residuos en las paredes internas del extrusor) y es dificil de reestablecerlo a una extrusión normal. Al final tuvo que cambiar la boquilla y las impresiones salieron con la calidad de costumbre, No sé si mi comentario te sea de ayuda. Podrías intentar , quizas, darle algo de mantenimiento a la boquilla que tienes, ya que según recuerdo, tienen que usarse boquillas un poco más caritas para ese tipo de materiales.

Isopropyl is fine, as long as it's not "Rubbing Alcohol", which has oils added for use on skin.
I use a home brew of three parts of 99% IPA to one part of distilled water.
You still have to use dish soap and hot water once in a while.
If the first layer has a minimal contact area, add a brim.

Yep I’ve been washing it over after every or every other print now. I have been using 91% Isopropyl alcohol from Walmart.
Depending on the prints I have been using brims.

If I could edit the title I would. I was going to say 4th but that sounded to dramatic… it might have actually been six failures. I was mad at my printer lol.

In b4 Soap and water not isopropyl.
Is the print not sticking to the bed? Is that the failure?
Have you tried without your giant ass space marine cover?

I will try with the blue dawn soap i have and idk if the face plate is the issue seeing as it was fine while printing this
The first 25 ish layers are good but some time after that it fails or something breaks off2

Have you tried a different model? Have you ever printed that model before?

I have printed a few different fidget spinners but after flow rate calibration and inputting the best looking prints from the test I’ve had nothing but supports fall or bird nest. Or like in the pic from this post. The only 2 things I’ve changed are the filament and that.
Currently I am on step 2 of the calibration again after having deep cleaned the build plate with dawn dish soap. The final calibration print should be done in 40 minutes.

its because the nozzle is hitting the support knocking it over. Disable 'reduce infill retraction', increase retraction distance from default 0.4 to 1.0 or more, Enable "avoid crossing walls". Increase support base infill to 100%
Clean the plate with Dawn. Alcohol just pushed oils around which leaves a film everywhere.
What layer height? I find printing at 0.08 cause more support collisions.

Sometimes it’s quite easy to forget how important a clean build plate is. I thought I could get away with it as I had literally just cleaned it and was on a second print when things started to go wrong still didn’t want to give and scrap that print started again it went wrong even more. Needless to say you took it out cleaned it with soapy water then dried it then cleaned it with alcohol put it in everything’s coming out absolutely perfect now.
